LOCATING A COMMITED LPG/PETROL DIAGNOSTICS REPAIRER
« on: 23 March 2015, 19:04:36 »

My local Vauxhall dealerships in sunny Leicestershire are very reluctant to accept 'Duelfuel' vehicles for diagnosis or repair.....My Omega 2.0cdx estate, 2000 vintage,71300 miles, mint, has a fault on the petrol system making it difficult to start and run......once switched to LPG, it runs quite well but seems very sluggish since the fitment of a complete Bosal exhaust. Any suitable garages out there? ? ?

How long has the exhaust been on? Not known for their longevity...

The new system, CAT, centre and back boxes, are less than 12 months old, less than 2000 miles in use.

How long have you had the car Graham ?
Oem Vauxhall factory lpg systems normally used Koltech ecu's  :-\

Also, i'd be looking at the petrol to injector area  :-\
For instance, has the petrol supply been restricted in anyway with the work that's been carried out ?
How old is the inline fuel filter ?

Bought the most cherished vehicle ex Vauxhall (closed trade sale) in September, 2000.
Been properly serviced, gas and the rest, by dealers since then...alas they have moved the goalposts

Having tried the old standby, 'disconnect the battery overnight' the fault does disappear on initial start-up, changes over to gas as normal and runs trouble free on both fuels, no erratic running or stalling/ cutting out. Next day, same old, same old...............

One or two of the forum members have tech 2 diagnostic equipment which will read the live data / fault codes from your petrol ecu.
Hang around here for a while, i'm sure a member will be able to help  :y

As for the fault, not familiar with the 4 pot myself but going on what you have said and going on the theory that petrol burns a hell of a lot easier then lpg i'd be looking for a fault on the petrol side.
It may well be that the lpg system is okay

I wonder if the crap cat is affecting the trims, thus its ok for a while after reset, but then goes shite.

Whats it like if you disconnect the battery, then run it purely on petrol for a few days?

Prins isn't factory fit.

Agreed. Worth a try. My guess is poor LPG system calibration building up a large fuel trim, which then makes it run poorly on petrol. :y
