Whatever you do, don't break the quarter window.

It's a pita to swap out. If the door is ajar, that should make bending it open enough to fish the keys out with a coat hanger  :y

I almost broke it this morning in desperation. I'll try the other.

Breaking any window is this situation is an idiotic thing to do. But as DG said, the quarter window is the worst to break, because you have to remove the drop-glass to replace it.

By the time you've sourced a replacement window, fitted it and cleared up the mess, paying someone who knows what they're doing to open the car for you is a more economical solution. I say this having replaced all three side windows a month ago

But with the door partially open, some easily improvised tools(like carving a slim wedge out of a scrap piece of wood) and some swearing will get you in the car without any damage/costs.

Will give that ago Nick after the rain goes off.

Don’t know how to post a pic but I’ve just been out to my 03 mv6 and got the cord inside with the help of a screwdriver in seconds. Pm me your number and I’ll send it to you👍

I've been in hospital for a while. I am back home now and finally gained access to my keys using the bootlace with loop method.

Thanks all for your help.  :y

Getting there Stemo. Just going to take a while to get back to where I was before being admitted.

Thanks for asking.  :)
