If so, you'll have to quarantine for 14 days on your return. Second spike anyone?

Am not backat my desk officially until Monday but I am back in Spain ( Mondragon) in the Basque Country.

Not good for the travel industry, Spanish hotels or indeed the small number of folk expecting to get away to the sun. We had a friend coming next month but she would have been expected quite reasonably to self isolate at her expense and couldn't afford it.

Hiya! I am still stuck here in Mallorca since March. After 3 cancelled flights my next one is 15th August. This return of self isolation has I hope me not cancelling the flight this time. There are very few cases here on the island so the local government are asking for a "safe air corridor" with the UK. Think I will be here until Christmas and I don't want to do that.  :-\ :-\

Drew, it is a mad world.

Got to say I feel relaxed now I am back. Rip off France was a shock to the system.

I know what you mean Varche! Where I am in Scotland they have very few if any new cases so I would be fairly safe there as well. But it is the bit between here and home that is the worry. Flight, hotel in Glasgow then 3hr train/coach journey north.  :-\ :-\

An Englishman driving a Spanish car across French France...

That's never going to end well... Especially with a shiny blue passport  ;D

Never had any issues in France, from a rip off point of view - note, I don't include Calais or Paris as part of France.

Granted, the tolls are more expensive than, say, Spanish ones. Though cheaper than the M6.

I've always found the French friendly, and price wise, quite reasonable.

Just had a freshly brewed coffee served in a cup and a freshly squeezed orange juice At motorway services in Spain . 3 euros 40.

Everything seems more expensive in France. Our hotel in Nogent Rotru was a superior room 78 euros. No breakfast. Shabby. Last night in Mondragon was clean spacious comfortable .70 euros and included breakfast.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, should have said cost of living is more in France than Spain.
