Anyone have one? Current jack is nearing the end of its life so need a replacement, thinking of the 2.5 ton low profile or any other recommendations or brands

I use a lightweight* ali Arcan 2T one as sold by Costco, had this one since the garage blew up. Previously had the Arcan 3T one that was brilliant, except I'm sure the 3T refered to the weight of the jack ;D
The Chinese ones that come out of the same factory as Sealey, but can be branded anything, including Clarke, are all pretty inferior by some margin.
*lightweight is relative, its still pretty heavy.

Yes I have one, low lift, well made bit of kit. Only issue is it can't lift as high as my old jack which means it's fine for 95% of jobs but it you want to get the axle stands more extended than normal (if your swapping the rear springs for example) you may struggle.... A block of wood on the saddle would solve that problem as long as your car isn't lowered in which case you might need to lift it in stages

That's what I have. Low enough to go under the Smart but big enough to jack the ML

I was looking at the Arcan jacks in Costco the other day and they were 2.75T for about £95.
Given they are quite low profile, I wondered if they had enough lift for a 4x4, Disco/Rangie type thing. :-\

They do change the ones available regularly, so you have to check the spec.

Driving the car onto wooden blocks is much quicker and easier than using blocks of wood on the saddle, and lifting in stages! My Omega required the same wedges made out of short scrap bits of decking screwed together that I made for getting a jack under a lowered Capri. They weren't necessary once I'd replaced the original saggy springs with new ones however.

Drop the air suspension then jack it :y
Or raise it fully, insert the axle stands the drop the suspension... :D

I have had one for two or three years, and would recommend it. Only downside is its pretty heavy for its size, but for the price it would be churlish to complain. :y
