Title: 04 Omega Bargain? certainly of interest...
Post by: 05omegav6 on 09 February 2011, 19:00:21
Saw this at Wilsons of Epsom earlier today:

'04' Omega GLS saloon, in unmarked black. It's a 2.2 manual, 1 owner, 41,000 miles, full dealer history. Up for £3495. Incidently chassis number is 134???. Russelheim was busy in 2003. ;D

I'd pay no more than half that for a GLS spec 4 pot, no matter how new and immaculate it was ::) ::)

Even simpler for me, I won't buy a 4 pot Mig...  IMO they need the bigger more powerful engines to cope with the weight of the car...  The fuel economy is only marginally better than the V6's anyway...

Says a tractor driver... :D :D :D

7 to 15 ish mpg better, and the 2.2 does do 70mph, and if being naughty a little more.... :-X 0 to 60 speed has no interest to me, not since the Mitsubishi Galant was sold.. :'( :'( :'(

Its not a V6 tho

And I would say that the MPG between my 2.2 manual and my 2.5 auto is a lot more then marginal, I would go as far as saying its a lot bloody better

not to mention 4pots are dead easy to work on, thermostat is a 10 min job!  ;D

I've had 3.0 V6's, 2.5's V6 facelifts and so on.... preferred my 2.2 manual.

That advert has errors in it I find it amazing ...

Wrong tax info - group L £425 .. it was first registered 2004 .. so its group K £245
Since when did an Omega have different size tyres front / back ??
and previous owners "0" ???

0-60 - 7.9 secs  (top part of advert)
0-60 - 9.5 secs  (body of advert)

Most odd .. :)

8-)Way overpriced ,i paid £1995 for my 1 owner 2.6 CDX 52,000 mile 1 owner fsh from a main dealer in December 2010, had been up for £2995 for about 8 weeks with no interest whatsoever,  & the V6s are without doubt in a class of their own in my opinion, i get 30mpg easily.

::)60mph! 27 mile journey to work everyday 70mph as well where permitted! mine is a manual  & yes 30 mpg is easy on a wll driven & maintained ecotec V6 i always keep a record of my mpg  have done on all my vehicles ,any real variation usually  shows a problem starting somewhere & is a good tip on showing how well a vehicle has been/is maintained, was advised on this years ago by a brilliant Aston Martin mechanic who always looked after my cars until his death 6 years ago the man was a complete genius withcars .
