Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Estate aerial mount

Hi all
I have a broken aerial which i found when washing the car but also found the base rubber falling out.
So thought i would replace both and be done.
On looking for a new one i found 2 types which look identical but 1 is passive and 1 is active.
The active one obviously has a Electrical cable attached too.
Can i tell which mine is without the removal of the head lining or is this a must before.
My system is a Bose setup.

Omega General Help / CCR2006. is it 2 Ohm or is it the car

I know this sounds odd but i am trying to repair my Bose system but i am getting some conflicting info.

I can get a replacement unit (CCR2006) but it comes from a Vectra which i didn't think had a Bose system so that would make it a 4 Ohm system.
As we know it does not state on the radio which impedance it is.

I can also get a aftermarket unit that states it replaces the CCR2006.
Now the Question

Does the radio unit go into another unit , Say a Bose unit to change it to the 2 Ohm system.

Cannot find any wiring info to confirm this.
And will all CCR2006 units be the same.

Might sound daft but don't want to change it and it doesn't work..

Sorry if in wrong section.

I am looking for some Bose system parts.

I have a head unit with a CD changer that keeps jamming and a drivers door woofer basing out(Over Vibrating).

CCR2006 head unit and a speaker is what i am looking for but might consider a system.

Don't want to have the hassle of swapping out for an aftermarket system as i have read it is a big job and then left with no wheel controls and on screen display.

Can anyone help please.

Omega General Help / Right hearter stuck on cold but left is ok

Hi

Could not find anything about this so i thought i would ask the question
My 2001 Miggy developed this problem one day with no warning. the left heater system is ok but the right is stuck on cold no matter what temp you set.

Could this be a relay prob or maybe the electrnic unit on the heater box. either way any ideas on where and how to get to them please.

Also, might be unrelated but my reversing sensors have packed up a to same time. Checked all fuses, all ok.
I did see a thread about it could be the speaker has packed up but no reply to where it was. Any help for the spealer location please would be appreciated so i could test it.

Omega General Help / My Miggy is doing some very weird things.

Hi all
I have a bit of a weird one, and then theres the car.
My Omega 2.6 estate auto yesterday coming home started spitting its dummy out.

As you stop the car is fine and runs sweet. when you accelerate the gearbox seems to go into fourth and you have to change the auto gears manually but they go in with a bump, not smooth as usual the a/c goes off, the dash has the airbag, abs, battery warning lights come on and the fuel/temp gauges and the rev and speedo drop to zero. if you stop then the lights go out and the tacho etc come back on. when the revs go above 800 rpm all this happens again.
Last night i parked it up as normal and this morning the battery is flat. this is also not normal.

Checked the fault code even though the mil is not on and hey presto no codes.

This has got me a little stuped but i thought it might be the main ecu but this would not explain the gearbox not changing except manually.

Any help would be appreciated as i though someone might of had this sort of thing happen to them before. i did check through the common questions etc but i could not see anything like this.

General Car Chat / Kawasaki Anti-freeze Type

Hi all
I am really stuck to find the type of anti freeze to go into my GPX750R.

I think it is purple but not 100% sure.
Am i able to use blue in it or will it cause seal type damage?

Omega General Help / Are the 2.5 and 2.6 cam locking tools the same.

I have recently purchased the cam locking tools for the 2.5, 2.6 and 3.2 v6 engines.
When i recieved them it does not state 2.6.
I have the 2.6.
So has anyone any info on this please.
I don't wish to strip down only to find i have the wrong ones.

Has anyone got a Cam locking kit i can borrow at all Please..

Recently bought my omega and with no history of the belt i need to get it changed asap.

I noticed somewhere you might be able to borrow one for the cost of postage so i am asking very nicely....pretty please with cherries on..

Hi all.

Can anyone reccommend a good reliable OBD software to read the on board computer via my laptop.
I do have a Scantech system worth £2000 new but it is too big to keep moving about. need a bit mor mobility.
Seen some on Ebay but a bit warey. Not sure due to possible cr*p cheap copies and non working software.
I run windows 7 64 bit on my laptop.

Any ideas please.
Had a mis-fire lately. not aprob now as it has gone but just like to keep abreast of any probs.
Nice if it can read the Miggy as well as the Galaxy too.

Today i had 2 people arrive to look at my old peugeot i had for sale.
They managed to burn out a perfectly good clutch and claim the head gasket had gone even though i know for a fact it hasn't.

Now i have a knackered car that i can no longer sell.

Anyone else had these sorts of idiots?

Made me VERY! mad at the time. I don't think they appreciated my attitude at the time and i did tell them to go away in some foriegn language.

Omega General Help / 2 button flip keys.

Hi all.
Just a query really.
On Ebay there are the 2 button flip keys for a reasonable amount but does it have to be that main dealer to cut the keys or do you think the street key cutters can do it.
Any one had experience with these?
