Well, it looks like I'm getting an 01 DTi Elite, so that makes 2.

Surely there are others?

I've been looking through the many posts in the various OOF forums and there's a distinct lack of newer diesels owned or talked about. Are they much rarer? They seem to be rarer just by dint of the number nationally for sale on Autotrader, but that could be that no one wants to sell.

There's hardly any posts about DTi problems - do they never go wrong? I know that they have timing chains so no worries about cam belts, which seems to be a regular petrol topic.

What sort of real-world MPG are you getting if you have a 2.2 DTi saloon or estate? Motorway / town / country lanes....

Oh right, so it's just plastic bits - not engine / suspension / brake mods like AMG and Alpina then?

That's about the size of it.

I'm disappointed now. :-[

So does anyone on here have any Irmscher mods to anything other than bodywork?

OK, I vaguely know of the name and seen the odd badge. What I don't understand, though, is what this company means in respect to the Omega.

Could you buy an Irmscher Omega, like you can buy an AMG or a Brabus or an Alpina? Is it a tuner that would improve your car if you ticked a box when you bought it new?

When people say they have an Irmscher Omega, what does that mean exactly? That they've stuck a load of plastic to it?

Cheers,

Graham

I like the thought of not having to take your sat nav / hide it / worry about powering it from the cig lighter, but not enough to pay £500+ to have a CID.

I've been searching through the forums and come across posts about getting the CID display from German eBay or having it fitted by dealers; prices quoted are between £250 and £1200.

Now, as I understand it, the CID offers sat nav and a prettier way of displaying the same information as on the MID. Is this correct?

If yes, why on earth do people pay such amounts to get the CID when the MID is not too bad looking and you can pick up probably a much better sat nav system (i.e. Tom Tom) for about £180 that you can remove from your car and plug into a computer to update?

Cheers,

Graham
