A dodge pick up why :question
About 8 years ago i went past a garage in south devon and in the show room there was two and i stopped and made a mess of myself and one of them belonged the garage owner and we had a chat and he said that he had just come back from a ski'ing trip and on the autobahn coming back he backed off from a 175mph and he said there was still a bit to go.
I think a holiday germany once you got it might be in order  ;) :y :y

its well protected it has had over 2 grand spent on securiy although if someone wanted it im sure its possible   my garage is being double alarmed this week  and  part of the security my brother had done is metal bars tha lock into place under the front and rear of car and they lock into plates on the floor so makes it near impossible to move if garage alarms didnt do their job

I've heard of a system that fits into the brakes. Basically if you activate it even if the robbing twit get's your car going, first press of the brakes they stay on so he legs it. Ok the car's abandoned @ the end of the road & maybe damaged but at least you get it back. :)

Another aspect that makes a Lotus Carlton/Omega an impractical every day car.

Whoops. I'm with Andy B. Fab car but simply not a practical every day car. When parts wear out or it goes wrong it costs serious money and they are pretty thirsty on fuel. They are notorious for rust behind all those plastic body panels too so keep away from salt roads. If I were you I would buy a cheap runaround for say £500 and save the beast for sunny days. Keep below 3,000 miles per year and you will qulaify for classic car insurance. As a regualr driver, I would have thought insurance would be way high.

Cost isn't the major problem. Having a shed loads of cash won't buy parts that are 'NLS' as a lot of Lotus specific parts are.
