Can somebody help with this one please, my friend parked up volvo 240 1993 when trying to re-start engine would not even turn over. Fitted fully charged battery dash lights come on but still no action, is it starter motor or something electrical thanks

Is it making a clicking noise if so then if it is a manual put in first gear rock it and see if it frees it up  :) make sure the ignition is turned off though  :y

All other (primitive) electrics seem to be ok.  Ignition lights reported OK, Car runs ok when force started.

So;

Starter motor/solenoid would be my port of call.  Check all connections first.  Make sure all are solid and free from corrosion.  Then start replacing.

starters do get stuck on them,but then saying that the ignition barel can cause a fault like that,are there any codes stored on it....n.b it is NOT ob2 compliant... :y

I had a 2.1 once and very comfy car and even with the 2.1 it didn't hang around

mine was a 2.3 estate...built like a tank...but it had air con,abs,power and heated seats,heated mirrors/window...went like a rocket :y
