Neighbers - Unsocable Times
« on: 07 March 2009, 17:26:23 »

Are there  (or what you consider personally) rules or laws regards Neighbers making noise and what is classed as unsociable hours.

TIA.   :y

Yup

Her dogs bark at anything that moves including thier own shadows.  She hoovers at 9pm, then the firking washing machine goes on arround 12:30am and vibrates through the walls on a spin at anything up to 3am.

She moves furniture arround at night and bangs the doors a lot.

Never hear any of the above during the day.  She's allways out gossiping and sticking her nose in other peoples business which I dont understand as she is on benefits and has a couple of cleaning jobs on the sly.

I have posted about her before, but she is getting worse.

We are private, hers was for sale but fell through twices.

Worth the hassle, yes if I leave with a smile on my face when she gets told what I really think of her, in a polite way of course.

As much as I would like to I dont think I would, but this is why I dont understand why she cant keep out of other peoples business.

Scare tactics could be fun, maybe the thought of her getting reported may be anough.

Apparently she told a kid off outside local shops for throwing litter on the floor.  then at the weekend they scaled her 6 foot gates and slashed 3 tyres on her car, the dogs heard nothing.

I think that the law states that unsociable hours are between 11pm through to7am in the morning. If she is putting the washing machine on at 12.30am and stops at 3am she is commiting an offence (disturbing the peace) which she can get in trouble for by the police. If she is in council accomodation then report the noise she is making at that time of night. Keep records every day of the noise she is making as this can be used in evidence if it went to court. Recording the noise is a good thing to do as well with a time clock as this will definately go against her and be used in court.

Anything else I have missed?

Sorry to hear this Skruntie.Mr Dusty and I once lived next door to the neighbour from hell.A woman who was clearly mentally disturbed.

We could not reason with this woman and it was a very unpleasant period in our lives,so I understand how traumatic these things can be.

Our closest neighbour is now about 200 metres away and our house is detached ,which is bliss.Chin up. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

My wife complains about our neighbours, so I tell her we only have to put up with them, they have to put up with us. We all can be annoying some times so tolerance is essential until the limits are reached.

Sounds to me like she runs the washing machine on Economy 7 cheap electricity. Which means that you get a poor nights sleep. :-/ :-* :-* :-*

skruntie perhaps its time to give your stereo speakers a good airing with some "drum & base", when she complains about the noise you just say you turned it up cos her noise was drowning it. :y

Apparently not.  But if that was the case then I half blame NPower for encouring her.

Music has been getting sorted for a while now.  I bought a sub woofer when I bought my system and never actually used it, but it will be going against the wall where I know she sits and let it drone through the wall. ::) ::)

Give the Benefits "Cheats" telephone line a ring Skruntie as others have suggested :D ;)

That will give her something else to do and worry about. :y

I allways wanyed to play the drums but sadly I need a lot of practice.  Now it seems that all I need to buy is a pair of drum stix, and I reckon I could get a months or 2 worth of practice in.    ::)

tried the council? dad had a noisy neighbour that kept having house parties dad phone the council who sent out some sort of excessive noise warning and they soon moved away

Drum & Bass does provide the desired effect usually need a good subwoofer to get the bass through the walls though!
400W+ should prove useful :y

Mine is a 6 or 7.1 amp that goes to triple digits per channel but thats far too load.

My attitude is simple from now on, House work from 9 pm every night, furniture and box moving from 11pm and then chill out from 1am with the headphones on loud that I forgot to plug in. ::)
