Those ads really piss me off. Praying on the vulnerable. Only a few quid someone said? If you borrow £100 at 2278% interest you pay £6.24 PER DAY in interest alone which means just 1 month after taking out the loan you owe £100 + £187.50 = £287.50 and it will continue to grow exponentially.

Still, we're told these are the good guys. The unlicenced money lenders are even worse. Borrow money from these guys and you never pay it off because you never know how much you owe (they just make it up)

That'd do it. Mind you don't use foxes dogs though as that would be unethical illegal downright naughty ::)

Seriously though, who hasn't been sent a letter from their bank/credit card company offering them a guaranteed  amount of money at x%, then been tempted to ring, only to be told that because you can't afford the repayments, the interest will be double.

LLoyds very helpfully suggested that I consolidate everything from my overdraft to my left arm. The net result of this offer would be that my average apr of 9% would suddenly become 24%, putting everything in one pot, and saving me £2 a month. >:(

Girl on counter was quite annoyed when I politely declined their generous opportunity. If they  really felt that saving 7 pence a day was the best way to solve my problems, or anyone else's for that matter, then they haven't learnt anything from the last two years. Also pointed out that as base rate was only .5%, 24% was hardly competitive. >:(

Rant over.

And now for the weather...  ::)
