1996 elite auto- what spec?
« on: 19 December 2007, 12:37:31 »

Hi,
As my last meggy died :( i'm in the market for a new one- have seen the above on ebay, and was wondering what peeps could tell me about the auto boxes on them (my only experience of auto's is on trucks)
do they have sport/winter modes?
also, is it likely to have cruise?
what symptoms/noises should i be looking for (ie whats bad)?

thanks in advance, from one of the faithful looking to rejoin the fold :)

try and get a post 98 spec, huge spec upgrade - HID's, Bose, Climate, Sat Nav, steering wheel controls, engine updates.

96 elite will prob have a philips sound system, ar35 auto box, with sports and winter mode. It will have cruise control.

Air-con... may just be standard air-con not climate! (digtial display for temp)

Leccy memory seats, sunroof and so on.

check the cambelt was changed within last 40k, this MUST have been done, check rocker covers for oil leaks, tapping, noisey when cold
