The arresting officer should have all the costs to the public purse wasted in the processing of the case deducted from his salary imo.
This reminded me of an even more ludicrous case last year, also in Scotland , of an old fella who was walking out of a shop and dropped a tenner on the ground.Two policemen who were stood nearby called him back,told him to pick it up, and then issued him with a fine for littering.

It was the same excuse for a public servant on that occassion as this.....

The car was stationary, in neutral with the brake on.Obviously , he should have sneezed whilst driving and covered the inside of the windshield in snot, had his vision impared and crashed into the four officers who were standing around idley waiting for something to happen so they could meet the days quota....

Hi everyone,just read in the Daily Mail that this copper had previously issued a guy a fine for littering,he had dropped a £10 note.
He,s not doing a lot of good for the image of the police in his area.
