Cars for Sale & wanted / 2003 Late spec 3.2 elite, CID and FSH
« on: 16 March 2014, 21:50:43 »
Up for sale is my 2003 3.2 elite, finished in silver with late spec black leather.
85,800 miles, serviced at 85,665 with plugs, all filters and 5/30 oil.
FSH with 7 stamps, last belt change at 68,000.
General body condition is very good, it has had a scratch to the bottom of the drivers door, which the previous owner tried to repair and stopped half way through, however just a blow over required. The drivers a pillar has had a tiny bit of rust treated, again not the best. Basically £150 to complete both and it would be extremely clean for its age.
All 4 tyres have good tread, 6mil plus all round. Its had new brakes, track rods, exhaust too
Leather is immaculate as you would expect with a decent mileage one, the centre console has had a phone holder on it at some point.
CID works perfect, as does the 4 disc magazine.
It shows code 403 stored, this is the standard oxy sensor issue, which just requires moving, the emissions light comes on and then goes off after a few weeks, but then comes on again.
It was off last week, but is on now, probably go off again soon, but want people to know of the fault.
Rocker covers need changing, very small weep of oil just started from the right hand side, and I mean small.
Taking all this into account I'm after £700

I'm back in an Omega after only 6 months out of the game. However I'm after a set of late spec wheels. Condition of the alloy is not important as long as they are not bent, but decent tyres would be a bonus. I would consider 18" sportstars depending on price of course. Whats everyone got in their sheds for me please? Cash from genuine buyer waiting.  :y

Thought I was about to treat myself to a Christmas present when I saw this today, however it is possibly one of the worst adverts I've seen for such a rare car, plus its Cat C.

General Car Chat / I sold my Omega in May and now.................
« on: 23 September 2013, 13:05:34 »
After only 4 months I've had to by another. Just couldn't help myself, not really sure why tho as my x350 jag is a lovely car. Its going to get some much needed TLC before I put it on here, but its a facelift Irmscher needless to say...... Of too the garage for work as normal with omegas.

Here we have my pride and joy, my 2002 "02" 3.2 elite with colour sat nav. She has been my car for over 4 years, but in my family for 6 years.
She has MOT till Mid April 2014, with no advisories and Tax till September 2014.
Current mileage is 129,600
Located in Manchester
BODYWORK:
Finished in two-coat pearlescent Krypton Green, This has been maintain and restored to the highest level. The car has received some paint, to make it into the condition it is currently in, but it has all been superficial. (Replacement rear bumper last year too)
It has been completed to an exceptional standard and has been maintained using the highest of quality shampoos, Wax and polish. The bodywork has to be described as near immaculate. I used to own a gold cup winning Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 6 years ago, so I know how to prepare, how to use and what equipment to maintain car bodywork.
The body work has been maintained by Iain at Finer Details, (www.finerdetails.co.uk) you can see my car in his gallery. Iain is renowned as a passionate and excellent car detailer and has exceptional feedback and well known on sites like www.detailingworld.com . I continue to maintain my car using swissvax polish, hand wash with detailing towel only (no leather chamois etc)

MECHANICAL:
3.2i 24v Ecotec with 217BHP with 4 speed automatic gearbox with snow and sport button, the engine has been mapped by Motorsport Development (June 2009) to run as efficient as possible whilst delivering a clear power curve (always used MSD when having any work on my RS Cosworth) The car has full service history, all stamped up by Vauxhall dealers and Jaguar specialist. This engine runs perfect, even from cold, never uses any oil or water and never misses a beat. A lights come on with ignition and go out when the car is started.

SERVICE INTERVALS
The cam belt and tensioners have been replaced (115,000), by “Elite Pete”.
The car has had a full service less than 5000 miles ago.
Both rocker covers (genuine GM) and oil breather cleaned out (117,000)
Both pre cat sensors moved to eliminate any common management light issues
Replacement head tank to remove faulty “coolant level” warning
Scuttle drains unblocked and cleaned out
Power sounder removed and replaced with new genuine one
Both key fobs repaired last year
New water pump
Inlet manifold O rings replaced.
Air con freezing cold
4 wheel alignment and total balance and geometry set up at 125,000
Basically all common problems have been completed within the last 15,000, along with this I have had new brake pads and brake callipers changed.

Full service history (11 stamps), will all manuals and leather wallet
Service mileages are as follows:
7582, 35943, 51233, 62132, 71428, 80038, 96489, 108497, 112297, 116282, 124725

WHEELS AND TYRES:
4 x late spec elite wheels in good condition, with some scuffs/scratches but nothing major.  All fitted with genuine Vauxhall locking wheel nuts and standard Vauxhall nuts.
Front tyres are Goodyear eagle F1’s asymmetric  3 (new style) These are the best rated tyre for wet driving, hence why there on the front. 5 mil + tread
Rear tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 3, the best tyre money can buy and demand the price, however will do 40,000 miles on the rear of an omega,  6.5/7 mil left.
I never replace 1 tyre, both sets together and only use these 2 brands now. There are many threads about tyres for Omegas, but removing “money or budget” boundaries these 2 Tyres would win hands down all the time.
4 brand new genuine GM vauxhall mudflaps

Omega Gallery / The last day with my immaculate 3.2 elite
« on: 03 June 2013, 16:58:37 »
Its took me the best part of 4 years to get this car to the standard I'm actually happy with, and tomorrow the new owner is collecting it. It has been swissvaxed this morning and I have to say, its actually making me upset to sell, how does a car do that to you? The good news is its staying on the forum, and the new owner will cherish it just like I have done. These will be the last pics from me but I'm sure the new owner will show it off too. IMO I think it will be harder to get a better conditioned omega  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'( ....
I've put my photobucket account up as I have loads of photos.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / After market alarm
« on: 21 March 2010, 12:18:48 »
My car is going to be parked in a multi story car park 2 days a week, so I want to upgrade the security. Can I just get a CAT 1 alarm fitted and use that fob rather than the vauxhall remote? What problems, if any will I face?
