I'm sure a lot of you will remember Byron, don't think he has been very active of late on this site.
Sadly Byron passed away this morning, it was announced on a bus site he was involved in.
I have yet to find out what happened but send sincere condolences to his wife Pam.

Thanks for your advice gents, I think I will be going to the guys in Kent because I have had several others recommend them.
Due to finances I think it will only be the bearing option and hope I don't live to regret it  8)

My brother used a guy close to him (Newbury) and has been happy AFAIK. I can ask if you like?

Thanks Kevin, I would be interested, especially on the price. I don't think I can justify the new end case so it will just be bearing replacement, which I believe they do without removing the box....
I can get the bearings done for £499 or the new End Case for £960.

Thanks Mark, it was a drive in/out service I was looking for. The guy in Edinburgh seems to be king but it's a long haul and the other company I found was in Kent. There are so many horror stories of cowboys making things worse.....
Just checked the one you mentioned and it is the same one I had seen....

General Car Chat / M32 Gearbox Repair
« on: 28 July 2020, 23:52:21 »
I have a 2007 2.2 Zafira B with the infamous M32 Gearbox.
Gears 1,2,5 and 6 all seem okay but gears 3 and 4 are noisy.
I believe it is usually 5 and 6 that cause trouble.
Anyone repair these or know someone reliable who will repair it?
I'm located in Birmingham but would travel.....

and the small matter of knocking through from the hall
What could possibly go wrong???

You forgot to add the challenge for the biggest fire!!

I have a car that runs on LPG. For some reason I can go to London with no charge but it's £8 for Birmingham.... Something dodgy going on because the advice was if it is okay in London then it will be okay in Birmingham..... suddenly the goal posts have been moved!

Has he checked the insurance data base to see if the car is insured?

So, as far as the law goes. If STMO harasses me just because he thinks I'm a plonker - that harassment is not a hate crime in law :y

If? If? Is there anyone he hasn't harassed? ;D

I once, when I was very young and naïve, met him at a train station and got in his car

Don't think I would advertise that James  ;)

The fridge in our Folding Camper is very fussy about being dead level or it wont work......
Being as you are at home and not set up on site, is the van level?
