General Discussion Area / Millionaire & the murder mansion
« on: 09 April 2009, 23:09:11 »
I was intrigued by this last year. I just couldn't believe that the Dad had done what had been suggested, that was before they found the bodies. As it turned out, he had actually done it. As a dad of 2, I find it impossible to put myself in the position of these men who flip & decide that they're going to take out everybody ... wife & daughter too.
According to his brother, he'd been worth £10.4 million the previous year, before it all turned to shit. Surely life couldn't have been that bad, even if he'd had to pay all his creditors and leave himself broke to do what he did.

Who can remember how to wire them up? There's no loom just bit of wires. ;) I've done it once ..... but old age has stepped in & I can't now remember.  :-/
I've tried a direct feed to the +ve of the coil and then connected the tail of the condensor/points to the -ve. That melted the points!!! I've got another new set & don't want to do the same to these.
Any pointers? I've had a quick Google bt can't find what I want.  :-?

General Discussion Area / Diseasal Astra TD
« on: 15 March 2009, 17:27:51 »
Any clever clogs know what this means?

I was clearing the INSP from the odometer of my TD Astar - ign off, press trip reset, turn ign on 7 wait till ---- clears, so in my confuddled state of mind I turned the ignition back off & on again while still holding the  trip reset button in and ....... the above numbers appeared.
I tried the same thing with SWMBO's petrol 16 valve Astra G and  ...... nothing  :-/
Any ideas? It's not the total milage, that 162 000-ish.  :y  :y

Not the clearest pictures  :(, but it was via my phone.  :y

General Discussion Area / Orangutan diary
« on: 11 March 2009, 21:10:50 »
Has anyone been watching this on BBC2? It's been very good.
The state some of these baby orangutans have been in when they've been taken into the orhanage has been terrible. Most seem to have been with their mother when they've been shot or attacked with machettes etc but others have been rescued after they were taken as pets & then kicked out when they've grown too big & strong for their owner.

....... because you've been a young stupid bugger who always knows best, and you have collected 6 points (for speeding) within 2 years of passing your test, will you have to go through another driving test before you get it back?
Just wondered! :y  :y

General Discussion Area / Wii
« on: 01 March 2009, 18:49:31 »
I know somebody here will be able to answer this ;) I just hope i can understand the answer  ::)

My sister-in-law bought a Wii Fit game for their Wii. She tried to play it, but got as far as putting the disc in, but it wouldn't then read disc. Needless to say, that when she took it back, it played in their machine & they explained that the game wasn't compatible with her machine. One was 3? and t'other was 4? "but it's possible to upgrade the machine online"  :-/  :-/  :-/
As her Wii isn't actually on line, is there a way of upgrading the software of her machine to suit without going online?
