Car tracking via internet?

Just a thought after the jeep hacking thread, if posh cars have ip addresses / bluetooth etc can they not be tracked easily via this when they get nicked? Londinium rangey rovers are going walkies on a daily basis I believe  :-\

Depends on the lease time on the IP address it is assigned to, although if you are smart enough to hack in to a Range Rover and steal it you are smart enough to disable the radio and it's connection to the tinterweb

Imbedded tracker.
 latest  Volvo and scarnia's have full telemetry available, also smart satnav which adjust power and speed, eg 30mph limit truck will not exceed speed, gives more power for hills cuts it when cruising etc.

Last time i hired a van. She told me all there vans were tracked and she had them on pc screen

We use trackers in our fleet to ensure our people do not stray from where they are supposed to be.

Do-able, but from what I've seen (in a support capacity) of mobile data networks, probably more effort than giving a crime number....
