Tried to re-set, didn't work. Will need to look into the matrix thingy but I don't know where to look!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but should the climate control only produce heat when the car is warmed up, or should it produce heat straight away from cold?

The engine has to be warm. I find it doesn't start the fan until the engine is warm enough for useful heating - about 1/2 a mile up the road for me.
