Omega Gallery / Vauxhall omega 2.0 CD
« on: 22 June 2016, 09:47:07 »
Not actually mine but it's my dads. It was bought after his vectra C died. The car was a reasonable price, 1 previous owner and only 70k ish miles on the clock. The bodywork is a bit tired and in need of tlc but mechanically it's in good working order which is a definite bonus.

Since owning it we've done a few things to it and got a list of other things to do.

So far we've done:
Headlights polished with upgraded bulbs
Air con valve replaced as it was leaking
Regarded with can bought from halfords (needs proper regas)
Removed the sticky residue left from GB sticker

Still to do:

Give it a thorough valet and detail
Fix the hole in the exhaust
Change the front discs and pads
Bleed the brakes all round
Full service
Replace leaking washer bottle
Replace coolant header tank (coolant level message fault)
Replace o/s mirror cover (wrong colour)
Replace/repair back bumper
Get cambelt replaced soonish
Will be putting wheels and tyres from his vectra on temporarily as they were new tyres before the car died

Well I think that's all for now but no doubt I will end up adding to the list.

A few pics

I've gotta change the brakes on my dad's vauxhall omega (as above) and I'm trying to order the pads and discs but apparently there's 2 different types of calliper and brakes. How on earth do I find out which kind I need?

Omega General Help / Air con help
« on: 09 April 2016, 15:11:25 »
Need a bit of advice about dad's omega. He's taken it to have the headlights polished and the air con checked. They pressure tested the air con system and found it is leaking at one of the valves.
It's the valve circled in the picture below

There appears to be no valve inside the port. Just a ball cock. How easy is the valve to replace?
