Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Headlights

Please excuse me if I don't explain this to well..  

Right here goes..I brought two headlights off of Ebay, not Vauxhall but identical to the originals I have on my 98 2.5 elite, trouble is on the originals there is this cap with three screws holding it in place and under this is a red and black plug..will this fit the ones I brought off ebay which have all the same holes and grooves..in fact this red and black plug seem to be the only difference.. also is there a bulb under this red and black plug ??

Or have I brought a heap of s**t hope not

Love the Haynes Manual which says "remove three screws and remove headlight"  Yea.. like f**k it does..

Could a member please tell me what parking light bulb I need for my 98 2.5 elite, It will save me taking the battery out and replacing it twice..I did see a bulb list on the site, but can't seem to find it now.

Omega General Help / Headlight

I have Xenon Headlights, I think (that's what the handbook says anyway  )

I changed the parking light bulbs this morning and noticed that the reflector on the drivers side is loose, like it moves about when you touch it, Does this mean a new headlight or can it be fixed ?

Omega General Help / Paint Code

Please can any member answer a question for me ?

On my door pillar there is a VIN plate with the paint code for my car which is Z282, and in the engine compartment on the VIN there is a 13L...In the list of paint codes on this site mine comes up as 282/13L: Polar Sea Blue Mica [Bertone] (95-)...what code do I ask for at Vauxhall Parts Store ? and what is this code 13L ?

Omega General Help / door plug

Hi

This is a long shot that somebody may know..I changed the front drivers door on my 98 2.5 Elite with a door from a L REG 2.5..[that's all I know about that car]

What I want to find out is, is the locking ring that locks the plug into the socket any different between my 98 2.5 Elite and the L REG plug..all the pins are the same in the L REG door, but I just can't push the poxy plug back into the door..

Can anybody tell me which way do the pins in the door hinges come out, is it both the same way, or opposite, ie one up and one down.

Omega General Help / climate panel

I'v got the climate panel out after following the "How to" in the maintenance guide, now I need to know as i cant see behind the panel properly, do the plugs just pull out or are there any clips that hold them in... I'm replacing the climate control dials after ramming a length of doweling into one of the dials

Omega General Help / Pollen filter compartment drain

Can anybody tell me what the rubber gromit in the pollen filter compartment drain looks like, only my one after cleaning out the crap does not look like the one on the nearside...It looks like it is solid to me  
Or do I have to pierce the rubber ..

Is there any photos of it anywhere on the site...just so I can see what it looks like..

Omega General Help / Another Heating Question

I have read the first 50 pages of General Help and have some Idea what my problem may be..

My heater on my 98 2.5 elite is not warming up and has started blowing out cold air, it blows warm at first for a few seconds only..on one post a member was told to see if the two pipes that went into the bulkhead were hot..well on mine the top one is hot but the bottom is cold...please can anyone explain in a child like fashion because I know zero about car mechanics

Before I joined the OOF I would not have attempted anything on my car but with advice from members I replaced two doors and their looms and made a good HID headlight out of two broken ones..after reading posts about how to take them apart..so thanks guys for the help you gave me because without it my OMEGA would have been down the scrappers that's for sure..

And guess what..she got her MOT first time today no problems...

On the 17/11 I ask in my first post the question about my heating blowing cold, to which several members gave me some good advice on what the problem may be..but on the 18/11 before I had chance to carry out any of these things, my neighbour left his handbrake off on his large ex postal van and it rolled into my car taking two doors out..anyway after a week the Insurance Company said that my car was uneconomical to repair..so I took £1200+my car...but this is the good bit, my wife has been on at me for the last six months to get rid of the M reg Omega sitting in my garage...so all I need to do now is replace two doors and I'm £1200 in pocket..
