Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Re: Low mileage X30XE
« on: 09 June 2012, 18:34:59 »
Dont get me wrong, im not doubting high milers at all (and looking at it there arent going to be many 3.0's about with lower mileage anymore), but id just rather have a base to start with that has generally less wear overall. Not sure to what spec im building it upto yet...or even if i can retrofit the 3.2 in there with 3.0 bits?

Mines is a little tired, but rather than take the time to take it out and refurb it... id rather have a spare there to rebuild and just swap them, and I want to fettle a bit with it also  :y

Its the calipers  :y

Mk3 mondeos do have handbrake adjustment, its underneath the car near the handbrake lever. The rear calipers are extremely well known for seizing up around the the little handbrake arm. They can be unstuck but it will come back. Cables will probably be stretched now too.

I asked a mate... hes got an old splitty running 152bhp tuned by a company down south, and hes still running the 30w oil as it aids with cooling, although he cant rev it cold or it blows the filter lol

MV6 with coilovers on.. not sure how much its lowered by, i jus did it til looked nice. The handling is changed immensely, it now corners without feeling like the wing mirrors will touch the ground  I can throw it into tight corners at a fair speed and it keeps traction...previously it would be all over the place.

As you can see the front tyres just sit nicely in the arches. The rear was lower but had to lift it slightly because i was catching on my driveway. Theres 25mm wheel spacers fitted aswell (rears werent on in those pics)

Theres no market at all for V6 omegas just now, could pick up some reasonable ones for £500. My mv6 was up for sale not far off that before
