The worst i found was my leon cupra R... was a really bumpy ride as standard, felt everything, to the point where even a small hole felt like you had just demolished an alloy lol

As others have said, depends on your aims and preferences. My standard MV6 suspension felt like a boat to me, im not running coilovers (not sure how much im lowered, but a fair bit!) and the handling is vastly improved, looks also. I had to raist it slightly originally because of clearance issues. Wouldnt say my coilovers are overly bumpy either - ive had standard cars that ride alot rougher!

2x 215/45/17 toyo t1r barely scrubbed in - £60
Fk coilovers including custom droplinks that are near new - 150
Cruise control - 30
4x25mm hubcentric spacers and bolts - 70
Full facelift bumpstrip set in black - 50
Smoked side repeaters - 5
5 speed manual gearbox, no noises etc - 100

Anything else just ask, all that I can think of from top of my head

As titled  :'( money and space dictates i just cant keep her sitting any longer, been saving her from the crusher for aslong as i can but think im finally going to have to give her up...itll be a sad day!

Has all the usual MV6 features youd expect, but also have coilovers, facelift bumpstrips, cruise control set up and few other extras... just a feeler really for anyone that might want anything to voice up before i weigh her in.

Cheers  :(

not to bad i hope!

Will investigate the electrical damage tomorrow :-/ need a new scuttle and stuff as i punched through it and ripped it all out to douse the fire before it passed through the bulkhead

Really sorry to hear this :'(.

It's not the first Omega to have had a fire start in this area. Previously, the power sounder seems to have been the culprit but not so in this case?

It would be interesting to see a photo of the area; maybe we can glean something from it which will help it happening in future?

Kevin

I disconnected the power sounder a while ago as the battery was going and it was doing my head in goin off all the time lol

From what i remember of my quick poke around, the cable going past the servo (cant remember what it was) had either melted or rubbed itself and earthed onto the servo (theres scorch marks on it to show this).

Theres not much damage from the small fire etc as i was quick to react - i had investigated, tore the scuttle panel off and put most of it out before my passenger even amanged to get out the car  ;D hoping not much done electrically though!

See how it goes, MOT and tax are due and tbh im gettin fed up of fixing it, so might ultimately be time for it to come off the road :-/

Appears to be a wire thats rubbed through against the brake servo and short circuited. Only found that out due to it all catching fire earlier tonight  ::)

Omega General Help / Electrical problem
« on: 05 August 2010, 18:02:01 »
Didnt know if it was common or not, so i thought id ask incase...

Last week the fuse for my PAS blew... fair enough, changed it and all seemed well. A few days ago my airbag light came on driving to work  :-/ then today on the way home, sittin at traffic lights and the PAS blew again, although this time it was a bit different, all electrics reset themselves (cd player, clock etc).... :-?

Tried another fuse in the PAS slot, switched ignition on and it blew straight away.

Is this a common fault or am i going to have to actually do some work?  ;D

cheers!
