Wilko Johnson, guitarist from Dr. Feelgood.
He was diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic cancer several years ago and expected to die within 3 months.
A doctor (at Papworth Cambridge iirc) operated on him and he came back from it, so at least he had a few years of borrowed time.
