Does this thing need to be torn apart to clean it (There is a torx screw from the bottom side)? I just poured the pain thinner inside that bottom hole couple of times and left it for 15 minutes like that.
But I'm not sure is this enough?

Thought the same thing myself when i wanted to clean mine ......... completely f**ked it up trying to take it apart so had to go out & replace it

Silly question i know but have u followed the instructions to the letter?  :-/

Have read somewhere that the more times u try to put the code in the longer u have to wait before trying again or 'safe' mode comes on automatically 

I think that TheBoy's tip cud reveal the correct code at the back or confirm u have the correct code at least

To be honest i remember having a pre-facelift mig & the headlight bulbs where sh*te! So got some 8000k-55w bulbs & i cud see into nxt doors bedroom window - she lives 800yds away!!

If you havn't got yourself sorted yet you could try ring automotive. If you click on the link below just put in your make/model/year & it comes up with whichever bulb you are looking for back or front of car. The Ring Xenon Max is a recommendation

I've had a '2' month problem withmy 2.5 

Everything was changed & tested but still my car ran like it was on 4 cylinders instead of 6 & tick over was lumpy as u put it!

Last thing we did was change the dis pack   

now runs smoother than my head (i'm shaved)

Sorry to drop in on your topic Buddy without being invited but can i use 'blue' coolant to top up my overflow bottle?

Problem is that green or red just doesn't look good for my 'champagne metallic' colour mig whereas blue is sooo in this year 

But on a serious note i bought 2ltrs of Asda 'Anti-Freeze & Summer Coolant' already mixed for a fiver & as i'm stuck for time & money i thought i'd top up with this as a temporary measure  :-/

What a RIP OFF.

five quid for what is only actualy 1 litre of antifreeze concentrate....I bet even the local Merc dealer would be cheaper than that.

Mmmmm think i must have misread the receipt!! 
Could have been £2 for 5ltrs but there again it was my partner that bought it for me (asked her to buy me some anti-freeze) & threw the bill away!!

While you are on may i ask u a question?
How come when i type either 'ur' or 'your' it comes out as 'you are'?  :-?

Hi Guys

I had this problem a few months ago, I removed the solenoid/motor I didnt have a replacement so put it all back together and it was worse than previously.
I read on the forum somewhere a guy had soaked it with WD40 and worked it manually for a while and it was fine.
So I took off the door panel again but this time left the solenoid/motor in situ and sprayed it with WD40 + worked it using the manual door lock lever/button lots of times, hey presto saved me 74 squids for a new one. Its still fine 2 months later.There is a good guide to removing the door panel is on the forum.

Great advice mate! i've got the same problem myself so will try it on mine & keep my fingers crossed!!

Dobra!! 

My partners for-ever squealing at me for being idle, but that's another story 

Had the same thing on a Vectra few years ago & sounds as if the engines going to pack in! I carried on driving for a few days until i got it fixed without any damage caused 

I hold Bratislava very close to my heart cos me & my friend went out with 2 girls from there a few years ago   8-) 8-)

Omega General Help / Front o/s door solenoid??

After all the problems i've had & now fixed, a new problem has now emerged! The font o/s door pin won't budge - can use the central locking which opens all 3 doors but then i have to use the key to open drivers door but the pin won't pop up although the door opens! To lock the doors, i have to use the key manually as 3 doors engage shut but immediately the pins pop back up 

Don't know if its the motor or solenoid or maybe the motor  is the solenoid  :-/ (i'mconfused.com!!)

Can anyone tell me how to fix it & if it's a tricky job for a novice  :-?

On this link to RobG he states it's 'fuse 29A' BUT in the engine fuse box it's got No.1 K12 Brown for the SAI so which fuse is it please??!!

Have the same noise myself & its DEFO the sai as pointed out.

It goes after 30 secs & if you put your ear to the front passenger side tyre u will hear it - honest!

I'd like to know which fuse is the one for it so i can pull it out if that's possible?
