We have been fortunate over the years to see the space station because of clear Spanish skies. On one memorable occasion we saw the shuttle separate from it. It isn't that high really and can be seen by eye.

If you go somewhere without light pollution you can see various satellites too.

Sorry in advance having a brain lockup moment. Is it still manned?, if so how they gonna get back, now that theres no Shuttle service.!

Yup  :y as the Americans aint got anything to use at the moment.  ::) they are working on a new spacecraft at the moment though.  :-X :-X

Yup  :y as the Americans aint got anything to use at the moment.  ::) they are working on a new spacecraft at the moment though.  :-X :-X
If Messrs Bush and Bush had been a bit less trigger happy, they might have had the cash to develop a new shuttle and have it flying reliably before the old one expired ::)

Might also have been a bit closer to a Concord replacement  :-\
