I couldn't believe my eyes...
« on: 07 December 2020, 17:43:37 »

Tesco's carpark earlier today...

Current large Rolls Royce saloon. Not in itself an occasion, but it stood out as it was two tone... Navy blue up to the body line with Old English White from the flanks up.

Again striking, but not too chavvy. What really stood out was the fuel filler door on the osr quarter... Which sits square in the middle of the colour change line. Was it a nice two tone to match the rest of the bodywork?

Nope, it was completely navy blue... £150,000 car and they cba to paint the top two inches of the filler door a different colour :o

They mightvas well have painted the filler door lime green for how much it stood out...

That would annoy the hell out of me if it were mine.

I'd say I wanted it painting or I wasn't going to buy it. But, then again, I haven't seen it.

I've come to the conclusion I could never buy a car that expensive, even if I could afford it.

I was bad enough with a c£30k BMW, something that much, I'd be an OCD nightmare and I just know the cars wouldn't be that carefully detailed.

Back to the OP, that's an absolute shocker.  :o

The only justification would be if the upper body was wrapped... But even that wouldn't excuse the omission...

I resisted the urge to walk over and ask. Just.

I wonder what a wrap costs?  ???

I saw a Porsche 911 parked by the side of the road in Dorking a couple of years ago and it looked like a dirty, rusty heap of shit barn find.  :-\

On closer inspection it turned out to be a fairly newish car with a wrap!  :o

I couldn't believe my eyes!   ::)  ;D

Upwards of £1000 depending on the materials used and how good bad the installer is. A reasonable quality wrap costs about the same as a tart-up paint job done by someone who knows how to get a good gun finish.

It's supposed to be easily removable without damaging the paint underneath, but if you've ever had to remove vinyl graphics you'll know that isn't true.
