"range"
« on: 01 February 2010, 20:17:35 »

this has probably been asked before and is a rather dumb question  ::) but how reliable is the "range" or miles left, on the trip computer? i normally re-fill it when the range drops below 150 miles, but how low can you let it drop before its advised to re-fill? i know theres a risk of sucking up any sludge in the tank if you let it drop too much

Recently (due to financial contraints) I've regularly got it down into single figures ;D ;D

When I had my 7 series, I used to let it drop to 'flatline' where all the numbers disaappeared and there was just a flatline. Old man used to go bonkers.
Well to fill it to top with diesel it was costing £129 and that was a year ago. God knows how much these days. As for a Miggy I do not know as I never had one, but soon maybe soon.

Ive had mine go to 0 before now, after that the fuel light will flash which apparently means 1 gallon left

How many gallons does the tank actually hold though? i do tend to fill mine when it hit 10 gallons used, as that comes to around £55 which isnt too much of an eye waterer. :o ;D

Anyone recall the drive from France to Blackpool in the diesels on Top Gear?
JC's Jaguar was reading empty on both gauge & computer, but the camera in the tank said it very different & they reckon it had around 120 miles of fuel left.
