hi there .
can anyone help me . i have a 2.5 v6 auto omega and the gearbox has got a fault . it wont change gear and seams to be stuck in third gear. fault code is speed sensor or somthing .

sorry dont know the codes . as the bloke who read the codes for me only said that its a speed sensor or somthing .
to be honest i dont think he knows whats wrong with it .

steve thers plenty of good members in kent who may be able to have a look for you and read the codes im sure they will be along soon  sorry i cant help more as im crap with mending cars :y

no . they all light up when drive is engaged and in third and second and now doing it in neutral too

What about any other speed sensing bits in the car ie is your speedo working? ABS & TC?

I'd tend to agree with Rob re the selector switch though.  :-/

Agreed. There's a problem with the selector switch so currently the gearbox ECU doesn't even know which position the gear selector is in. This needs to be resolved before we can go any further. :y

Try the "Varche Fix" It is free and easy to do.

Lift bonnet and press down all the relays and connectors  next to the battery area, especially a big blue one. They come loose on rough roads(potholes).

Worth a try - that was what was wrong with mine (after I had given up on the car) :'( :'(

i really like the car and having spent out on cam belt and new wishbones , brake pads nd disc's front shocks and a towbar i dont really wana have to get rid of her

so, remove the selector switch, clean the cr4p out of it & see how you go.  :y :y
