Omega General Help / A couple of queries please
« on: 06 October 2008, 20:28:39 »
I have just got back into an omega , but before my jag i had a vectra v6 and was wondering although the cars are obviously a wee bit different do they:
A) suffer from the egr pipe from the valve to the manifold rot/split like the veccy (sounding like a blown manifold)
B) total closure - on the vectra you can conect two wires from the central locking module and give total closure without the module (although it did cause an issue with the one touch closure on the windows)
If the above are so i may be able to at last help out and can blank the egr pipe off for 20 p (it can be done for 10p but i thought the extra cost was worthwhile  ;D :D)
And i will have one touch total closure for FREE!! (my car does do total closure off the remote but i have to stand holding the button till its done)
I have searched but couldnt find the info i needed and its too dark and cold to go outside and lift the bonnet  :-[ sorry!!!
Thanks in advance for any replies

Omega General Help / next.....
« on: 07 January 2007, 15:35:48 »
ok take deep breaths before i start.....

changed lambda sensor today had earth lead off for an hour or so, then went for drive all fine, switched off put fuel in , started up and got all original lambda codes ( could they stay stored) and also got codes :
31 Engine RPM signal (crankshaft sensor) No signal
74 Air Flow Sensor (AFS) High voltage

is there something obvious i have missed and more important will the old codes still be stored as car ironically running better, more responsive and better on fuel? :-/

cheers in advance
Mick

just got maggie, as you know and will be doing a paperclip test shortly, just wondering though any one come across an eml that flashes quite often comes on for between 1+10 secs, doesnt matter if doing 90 or 30 accellerating/braking, straight line/cornering, bumpy/smooth road?

have toed it when light on and DEFINATLY not in limp mode :o (as the i own the road and am overtaking everyone 325 found out  as i pulled out on him and dissappeared into the distance lol)

will check as many connections as i can but any ideas as it's cold and dont wanna have bonnet up longer than needed
read vx omega handbook ( sad i know )and it says that eml coming on and going off again is of no significance????

Cheers in advance

Newbie Welcome Area / hello peeps
« on: 21 December 2006, 10:32:46 »
Hi all, first of all BAH HUMBUG!!  ::)
no seriously morning
i havent got an omega yet but am after one at he moment i drive a 97 v6 cdx vectra, and my mrs drives an sri 150 veccy so she is biased and wants me keep the v, and is trying to persuade me put a 3.0 meega engine in  my vectra but after she owned an elite estate earlier this year whilst we were moving house i thoroughly enjoyed it and defo want an elite! i havent got the know how or handy mates to transplant an engine tbh. also the insurance would be a funny thing i think as no doubt would have go somewhere like flux  :(
so anyway if any one wants to trade ( swap preferably) a 3.0 elite for a p plated v6 cdx vectra with fsh upto 108000 and 117000 on the clock ( rough estimates but not far off!) and bills for 1800 2 years ago with 10k done since, with a magnex ( i think it certainly looks/sounds like one)back box in mint condition body wise, no rust, good interior, only faults i know of are couple of dash switches dont light up..... then please pm me and make my christmas a merry one ;)
but anyway hello all will have a browse now and see you again soon when i get an elite!

Cars for Sale & wanted / Wouldnt reccommend it!

This is the one i wasted my time, money and energy going to see, he has changed the description to include "a small dint" and "if you are fussy" WTF????? I could have used the dent as a cup holder???? also no mention of the damaged back and front bumper or scabs of rust or whistling when cold? or the dual ram not kicking in like i told him??
There were also traces of mayo in the oil cap - could have been condensation but due to the rest of his false description and having to wait 5 minutes before he showed me the car (he came out and said 2 minutes then disappeared maybe to wipe the cap?)

Just a heads up to not pay over the odds for this!! :y

been dying to tell you all but i  killed me laptop and as i am working away again now its been hard getting it fixed but i have and i wanted to tell you all CHRISTINE PASSED HER MOT a fortnight ago  :D :D :D
Failed on a tyre, emissions and 5 brake pipes, managed get the brakepipes done for £100(seemed really cheap), put a good tyre on and the emissions ....well "cough" amazing what happens when you send a woman and an english  bull terrier to a bull terrier mad mot tester for the retest lol.
Advisory on front discs  :)
guess i might fix the gearbox switch now and replace the aux belt and tensioner that sounds like it dont have a bearing in anymore

Anyone got a MAF (sp) sensor for sale??
