General Discussion Area / Ebay advice, car for spares or repair
« on: 02 March 2009, 18:36:51 »
Howdy,

I'm putting a car (skoda  ;D) on fleabay for spares or repairs either as a whole or I will break it if there is enough interest but am confused by the fee system. I have seen people advertising a wheel nut etc so any advice about the cheapest way of putting it on is greatly welcome.

Feel free to start the skoda p*ss taking now !!!

General Discussion Area / EPC?

I have noticed some members get info from EPC and would like to be able to do this prior to the many painful phone calls to Vaux parts dep't. Is this something joe public can legitimately download or am I straying into dangerous copyright waters ?

Going to Wales next week and considering buying a dongle thingy for my laptop but have no clue what they are all about. I just want a pay as you go one so can anyone reccomend one thats good value and will pick up a signal in deepest snowdonia?

Not sure how many gig just browsing will suck up either anyone?
Signal strength will be dictated by the coverage of the network provider, but even a good signal strength does not guarantee a decent speed when connected.
If you have a mobile phone, then tether it and save yourself a few quid.

As for data usage, that all depends on what you are looking at. Start watching video's and you'll suck it up like there is no tomorrow, however simple browsing (such as using these forums) will barely make a dent.

Thanks Martian, I have a smart phone with some data included,  are you saying I can use this as a dongle? any idea how I sort this?

Technophobe alert!!

General Discussion Area / Vaux parts strike again
« on: 03 August 2011, 19:34:11 »
Went in for pads and coolant this morning. I says I need enough for 10 litres to go in the car, he says we have litre bottles of ready mix. I get home and have 10x1 litre bottles that need diluting i.e enough for 20 litres costing me £28 + vat

Muppets strike again  >:(

Dont even think about going near it this weekend. Just had A 2 hr queue coming home and near kicked the living sh*t out of a BMW 1 series driver who thought it was a good idea to drive right to the front and try and push in like a smart arse! ::)  ;D

Not sure if it is still being worked on next weekend but something to bear in mind if heading to the little meet in Hollywell on Sat ;)
