Sure I read somewhere that it is possible to set up, the Phillips Bose stereo standard to Elite,with a speed sensitive mode.
Any idea if this can be done and how to...thanks

Bose system std on Elite should be speed sensitive as std! Mine are.

I have found the Audio Manual and have got the page that refers to " Speed controlled volume"
for any body else that is interested here is the set up

To set the speed controlled volume switch the radio and ignition on and press the UML button(13) for 3 seconds until a "bleep" is heard.The display shows "VOL 0 to VOL 5 ".Select the desired setting by pressing tuning button (11),within 10 seconds.
At  "VOL 0 " the speed controlled volume is switched off.
To store the selected setting,press the UML button (13) until a confirmation "bleep" is heard.
If the selected setting is not stored within 10 seconds the set will revert to the previous setting.

It appears this feature is dependant on vehicle in which radio is installed..not the model of radio.

Information is to be found on page 36 of Audio Manual against Type CDR500.

Think I will go and have a look if I can find the car on driveway in Fog !!

Yes, CCR800 (and CCR600 and CAR400 for non Bose), press and hold UML for 3 secs, adjust setting with < > buttons, then press and hold UML to store.

CCRT700 is slightly different, I'll look it up later (I have a CCRT700 rigged up on dining room table at the moment)

Adjusted the controls as detailed and was quite impressed.As car accelerated onto motorway tonight on way home volume increased perfectly,at level set.
I know why I like these cars !!!

& I thought you were going to say that the FM siganl failed on your
???4780!  
I still say that my 24v Senator would beat my Omega hands/tyres down over all.  :-?   At least i can now get in my omega with out using both hands on the door handle.
