Omega General Help / follow on codes after initial P1700...
« on: 13 December 2011, 19:53:08 »
Hello,
I had a 1700 fault code show with the pedal trick, this has now got to:

0220
0120
1122
1700

all but the 1700 are throttle pedal position/signal high/ signal low/sensor A/sensor B codes
are these most likely just from reading the codes or is it an actual error with the throttle pedal sensor(s)?
thanks

Hello,
I know its a bit of an odd question,
Does anybody know of something GM or otherwise that has a larger capacity master cylinder for use on an omega with 4 pot front and 2 pot rear calipers as alot of the GM stuff uses single pot double acting calipers- even on the corvettes, obviously i'd prefer if it was a straight swap lol otherwise i would just get an evo 5 with front brembos master cylinder
thanks in advance

Omega General Help / changing diff ratio...
« on: 03 December 2011, 23:12:15 »
hello,
hopefully just a yes or no question...
does the speedo run off the abs sensors or does it run off the gearbox speed sensor?
just wondering as somebody suggested if i swapped diffs so final drive ratio then id need the speedo from the donor car so it read the right speed
thanks

Hello,
can somebody remind me please, do you just swap over the gearbox ecus if you go from the AR25 to 35?
i'd do a manual conversion but cba with the time of year - got limp mode yet again with TC light on and afaik the 1700 code again this morning, i've bought some fluid to stick in to check the level and its booked in saturday to have the codes read properly.

one thing i have noticed is that when it goes into limp mode, the rev counter bobbles about at around 1000rpm and there's basically no drive - if you turn it off and start up it goes into snow mode- loads of slip and it wont go in 4th at all

thanks

General Car Chat / larger injectors...
« on: 29 November 2011, 18:50:13 »
Hello,
just a bit of a debate time maybe or not depending if it gets shot down with a big AA gun lol!

firstly... Can you use the piezo crystal newer injectors on the omega if they're the same flow rate for example or do you need the ones like the standard omega ones with the springy tyre valve old school rubbish in it?

and secondly even though the gains are foooook alll....
I was thinking about remapping the 2.6 blah blah this and that, exhaust and stuff and would fit a little bit bigger injectors rather than just that stupid fuel pressure regulator shite which i'd probably fit anyway

oh sod it...lastly am i right in thinking on the facelifts you can just chop the second cats out on the downpipe after the lambda probes for long term fuel trim?

thanks

Omega General Help / P1700 gearbox issue...
« on: 28 November 2011, 07:36:04 »
hello :) i bought the car about a week maybe 2 at the most and noticed that the gearbox didn't know weather to go for 4th or not at 40 or just over and sometimes went in a bit of a jolt... Anyway on the way to work foot down briefly dropping it down to 3rd then stays there for 5 seconds then bangs into 4th and on comes EML lol anyway I've read possible crank sensor and possible speed sensor on gearbox which if my guess from memory is right then isn't it on passenger side where the prop shaft exits gearbox? Thanks.alex

Omega General Help / Possible gearbox/torque converter/diff noise....
« on: 20 November 2011, 10:13:34 »
Hello,
i've not had chance to get it on ramps or anything yet but i bought the gold facelift 2.6 the other day.

Theres a noise sounds either like a tyre rubbing so different noise at different speeds but something i noticed was that when manually over riding down to 3rd/2nd/1st... when you take it back up the gbox into drive, it'll hold the gears randomly untill you accelerate to around 3000rpm when it should just change up more-or-less straight away if its over 2000 when you move it back up towards drive

thanks in advance-i've been out of the fold for a while so be gentle lol
