Well the laptop decided to shutdown twice, but got some data. It was taken from car started, with no throttle. It was 0 degrees outside and the car was white with frost. The new coolant temp sensor seems to be working, also think the new Genuine IAT, new ICV and genuine NKG O2 sensor, correct for the cars year are seeming to be working? Or can anyone see anything amiss?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Data taken today.
First part from cold, before laptop shutdown

The IAT was replaced. Would of been cheaper to have got a V6 omega, the money spent on this one, but the misses loves it and bodywork in not bad condition for the age. 26 years old if going from first registered date, slightly older if I am led to believe, stood in a warehouse for a while.  Did prefacelift Omegas have Opel Adam, on the Vin plate, as that is what it says?

It was main ECU coolant sensor, that was changed last year. The original one on it was blue. Checked on here first and was told it was correct. So I am hoping it was just not warmed up enough. The misses has been out in it and said it runs lovely.

Once this snow and cold wind stop, am going to try and get some live data, to compare to last years.

Hi Enceladus

This is the one I purchased to replace the other.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYPE-APPROVED-CATALYTIC-CONVERTER-VX8020T/362453012246 Along with the correct NGK O2 sensor for the year of the car.

I replaced the circoli thermostat, with the one DG gave me the link to in the old post. Genuine Vauxhall Thermostat And Seal #95517664.

Replaced loads of sensors and other things.
Am going to try and get some live data, then compare it too last years data.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

dave the builder I am feeling alot better thank you for asking, still have good and bad days, but the way I look at it, could of ended up not being able do anything.  Got a amazing helper with loads of patience, if I need his help on the Omegas (GastronomicKleptomaniac off here).

The reason was asking about emissions, was couldn't believe with work done last year. And new cat and stuff, this year it still scraped through.

Will get here to go a day earlier for test next year. And tell her to drive it like she stole it. ;D

Hope you all stay safe out in the big world.

I didn't take it, the wife took it. But the MOT bloke seems helpfull and does as much as he can, to get it through test.  The wife doesn't drive like miss daisy.  Watched too many Interceptor tv programs. LOL

Well Car passed. But the CO emissions just scraped through on FAST IDLE TEST. Here is the printout.  Last year I replaced loads of things to get car through Emissions.  This year I have changed the Cat for a Type Aprroved one. Changed the O2 sensor, as after comunications with NGK, they said I had wrong one for my year, still Titania but not for the age group of my car. Plugs, oil, airfilter. But used the IAT, MAF and ECT, fitted last year.

I did a vacuum test and that is showing at 19Hg, which I understand means no vac leaks and engine in good condition and no ignition anomalies.

Will get some live data, hopefully today. But wandering why always the FAST IDLE TEST causes the problems. Would the EGR valve being faulty(no Error codes show for it), cause this problem?

MOT Centre is 3 miles from the house and the car was taken straight in for test.
Incase readings cann't be seen

Oil temperature reading Actual 86

FAST IDLE TEST
RPM :- 3084 PASS
CO :- 0.298 PASS
HC :- 70 PASS
LAMBDA :- 1.008 PASS

NATURAL IDLE TES

RPM :- 1043 PASS
CO :- 0.003 PASS

Here is the printout of test:-

This is the link, to last years post showing what I changed etc.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Breakdown
« on: 29 March 2021, 11:35:15 »
When I was having battery problems, a while back. I purchased one of these. Used it a few times now on other peoples cars. Even correctly said that one of my friends battery, was on the way out. When he purchased a new one, he had the old one checked and it was on its last legs.

ABS isn't going to put the engine management light on ...  :-\

You need to plug the car into a code reader and see why the management light came on and go from there ..... anything else is purely guess work  :y

I agree with you. What I meant was the only sensors, that are around the wheels are the ABS, but as you say will not upset EML. So the fact it comes on with steering one way, is a red herring.

There is ABS sensors,on the hubs. Check wiring in the wheel arch for being lose or chaffed. Not much else around there.

General Car Chat / Re: My paintwork, WTF
« on: 04 March 2021, 18:16:44 »
My Z157 Omega looks like it has been pelted, from a gritter on the middle of the bonnet and in line with the bonnet on the roof.  The wifes Jungle Green Omega, hasn't moved for a while but no damage to the paintwork. Both were under snow and ice at the same time.  I assume the pot marks, are down to frost getting in.

Good job got some bodywork to do. Might get car sprayed in solid colour, instead of metalic. Easier to repair and patch.  :)

Just to say thanks to GastronomicKleptomaniac, for coming over and helping me do the control arms.  Got them sorted and had a good laugh at the same time.

Hi cam.in.head

Would you happen to have or remember the reading, you got for the blue wire when you put a multimeter on it? I am also having the same sort of problem with buzzer and light dimmer, my interior light does go out. But the doors will lock as soon as the drivers door is opened up.

Thanks

Hi Enceladus

I probably did ask a while back. Since then I have had a stroke, that took out my communication, reading and speech. I still have problems now, you could say one thing to me, but it would register as something else. On a bad day I cannot even string a sentence together.

Sorry I asked the same question again and waisted peoples time.  I appreciate all the help given to me, so I can now get the correct ones sorted. I was always taught if you are not sure, ask even if you have asked before.

Take care
