It gets better.

It's going to be available as a faux "crossover" (so is that a faux, faux 4x4?): http://www.autoblog.com/2016/11/29/2018-ford-fiesta-revealed-active-ecoboost-cylinder-deactivation/

(Checks to see if it's 1st April).

SO.. it doesn't get "buzzy and unrefined".. This is a 3 cylinder engine running on 2 we're talking about.  ::)

Ahhh... The "tin snail".  ;D

Not without their uses. I seriously considered building one of these once. Reckon it would have been a total hoot:

Instead it will get lumpy, bangy and unrefined ;D

Although if it sounded like a nice V-twin.. which it won't, of course.

Have you ever been out in the Morgan three wheeler? If not and PH do another Sunday Service at the factory then I'd say you really should .. I, er, don't fit, but those who do tell me it is an absolute riot.

When we went up it was early spring, air temperature about 8ºC (less with wind chill!) and I went out as a pax in a Speedster Plus 8 with no windscreen and no helmet. Couldn't feel my face by the time we hit 80mph ;D ;D

Definitely not for me give me V6 or V8 any day. We have a 1200 cc Panda that is bad enough.

Probably about as vibration free as a 1964 Triumph Bonneville. :)

It's all about weight reduction and, therefore, saving the planet.

That obviously doesn't include the fat bastard behind the wheel. ::) ::)

It's all about weight  cost reduction and, therefore, saving money.

Corrected that for you.

Plastic inlet manifolds, engine covers and cooling parts have been common for years. Ask a BMW/Ford/K-series/Omega owner how reliable they are.
