Dashboard Dome

hello can any of  you  please tell me what the dome is on the dash in the middle by the window I cant find anything about it in the manual thanks in advance

Sunlight sensor for climate control I think.

not silly at all.  :) There was another dome, fitted by the electric sunroof control, which was the sensor for the remote central locking (Infrared models only 1994-5) The alarm sensors are at the top of the B-pillar on PFL and the interior light on FL (I think)  :)
