Omega General Help / Flat battery and locked out

Hi guys, the battery on my MV6 has gone flat but I`m unable to get into the car to pop the bonnet, the key turns in the lock but it won`t unlock. Never had this problem before and can`t understand why the key won`t unlock it 
any help would be appreciated

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / MID SAFE

I got the SAFE message on the MID after jump starting my 3.0l MV6, if I hit the off button then I get 01.01.1997 displayed instead, the unit is a ccr2006. There`s no radio or CD working but everything else is fine, the car started first turn after not being run for about six weeks and the battery was flat due to me opening the doors and boot quite a bit to get some jobs done while it`s sorned. Don`t know whats gone wrong, is it goosed or is it salvagable? Could this be my excuse for a new head unit

General Car Chat / Sticking starter solenoid

Does anyone know an easy fix for a sticking starter solenoid until I can source a second hand one.
The starter motor spins fine but it`s not engaging on the ring gear, a few taps usually sorts it out but it`s getting to be a PITA.
The local auto electrical place usually do exchange units at a good price but they only sell these ones new and I`m not paying £65+vat.
The car is my girlfriends Citroen ZX1.9D.

I`m looking to upgrade my car audio to something that can play MP3`s and I could also do with a bluetooth connection for hands free calling seeing as my parrot won`t fit the double din ISO plugs.
I`ve been looking at This Kenwwood double din head unit as it has OEM remote, OEM display capabilities with the appropriate leads and bluetooth kit included. It also has a variable colour display and looking on some you tube vids it has an amber similar to the Omega dash lighting which helps with the OEM look.
Opinions and suggestions please

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Climate issues

Up until recently the fans on the climate control would spool up after about 30 seconds of the car being started until the selected temperature was reached, now they don`t spool up until about 3 or 4 minutes meaning the cabin isn`t getting up to temperature as quick as it was and now the weather is turning colder I`d like to find out why.
I know it`s quite a complicated system so I`m hoping it`s something simple like a lazy air sampling fan but it probably won`t be

Omega General Help / Strange one

I noticed yesterday that when the engine is cold the fast idle is a bit erratic and the lighting on the TID (and dash and centre console lighting when swithed on) dims and brightens with the rise and fall of revs, it`s not a misfire, a bit more like the engine is hunting. It only happens when the engine is cold and runs perfectly apart from this but I can`t understand why the engine problem would affect the lights, if it was a earthing problem or alternator I would expect it all the time.
Time to get a haynes manual 

the car is a 3.0 MV6 manual BTW

Omega General Help / Whining noise on start up

Hi all, my MV6 has started making a whining noise on start up and lasts about 2 minutes and then everything is fine. Is there some sort of pump that operates on start up and then cuts out after a couple of minutes?
Whatever it is it sounds like it`s on it`s way out and I want to sort it soon before it expires.
Must be all these journeys to the wet side of the Pennines

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / vision fld/low beam

I`ve got the warning `vision fld/low beam` on my MFD, is there any way to tell if it`s the sensor or adjusters that have failed.
When I park on my drive on a night, it`s on a slight incline, the headlamps go up and down like they can`t make their minds up where to rest and I`ve also had someone flash at me as though I`ve got full beam on.

Omega General Help / Running on 5 for a day

My MV6 started running on 5 cylinders yesterday but is now back to running on 6 which is a bit wierd.
Done the the paperclip test and got code 73 and 19.
I`ve had code 73 for a couple of weeks now anyway which is the MAF sensor (again) but code 19 is incorrect RPM signal, does this indicate a failing crank sensor?
I can`t understand why it would start running on 6 again for no reason  :-?

Hi folks, just a quick query. Bilstein B4`s seem to be recomended on here as they work well with the MV6 springs, has anybody had any experience with the B6`s and if so whats the main difference between those and the B4`s?

Omega General Help / Stalling engine

My MV6 has developed an annoying problem, after hard acceleration and then while braking approaching a junction or roundabout the engine stalls. It will start straight away again and idle ok but it`s a bit strange.
It` also has a habit of stalling while parking too, usually when reversing, maybe these two things are connected.
I`m gonna give the ICV a good clean today but I don`t think that this is the problem.
