Decided to treat us to a takeaway tonight.

Used the shop before, but last time thier food was overcooked.  So ordered a Cheese burger and a small Pizza & make a point of asking them not to overcook/brown the pizza, order time before delivery was an estimated 45/60 mins  :y

Ordered at 9.28 (Estimated delivery time:22:45 - 23:05 when order placed) :-\

Order arrived around 10.30pm so not too bad, but I made a point of checking the pizza before he left, and yes it was burnt.  The driver confirmed on the reciept that I had asked DO NOT BURN/BROWN EDGES, he politelty advised to wait a while and then ring the shop and they would send a replacement.

So did as suggested, as soon as they knew it was a complaint the buggers hung up.  Rang them back, spoke to the manager/owber this time and was offered a replacement but I declined that, asked for a refund but was asked to do it via Justeat as the money was delt with through them.

Sorted that via email (Pending) and then went off to find a contact number on google. (No joy)

So I was led to believe the law changed a few years ago and all UK sites had to give Phone contact details.

Plus found this,

General Car Chat / Car Cleaning - Dash Board
« on: 01 June 2021, 11:36:52 »
My neighber just asked whats the best product to use. So I said I would have a look at Halfords for her.

If they have a section for cleaning products then I gave up looking for it, ECP not much better.

I warned her off silicone spray (bugger if it gets on the glass) so open to the OOF consumer advice section.

TIA. :y

Still toying with the idea of a new PC

Put a i9 11900K in the shopping basket (as stock became avaiable)

All ready have Memory and M.2. for the build

Was going for an Asus board but someone put me off them after an RMA nightmare, so went online and picked a Gigabyte board. etc etc

So out of interest I went looking for a GPU.  Not 100% about getting one as I want to see how the built in video performs.  But the best card I could find was a Gigabyte 2060 6GB GPU for £489.99 (My 1060 cost £199) but the pi** take is I have 15 mins to place the order . . . .Dont think so. :-\

General Discussion Area / Cash Back
« on: 05 May 2021, 17:39:57 »
Follow on from the renewal time thread I started.

How do they work. (Cash Back(CB))

Are they to be trusted.

Is it for new payments only (Do you have to be signed up before hand and then open the site you want cash back with in it)

I still have 2 weeks to sign up if I change my insurance, but even if I stay (Admiral)  could I claim cash back using a CB service.

Which if any gives the best returns? :y

22 Y NCD (Thier number - most wont accept it)

Started at £260
Down to   £239 but I am not happy with that.

But I have been told the UK average has come down by £90 per policy.

So off to check the market.

Anyone had any good deals this year. :y

General Discussion Area / Covid - 2nd Jab
« on: 29 April 2021, 20:39:07 »
Got a phone call on 25th March so had 1st Jab on 26th March.

Understood the 2nd jab would be approx 12 weeks when I took the call.  After all the questions, I had 1st jab and then was told 2nd jab would be 9 weeks so that would be arround 27th May.

Got a phone call yesterday booking me in for the 4th May, asked why the jab was earlier and was told that they were learning about the virus all the time etc.

Next thing, jab brought forward so thats both jabs complete for me.  Also told on the phone yesterday the safe period to collect "my birthday kisses" was 3 weeks :-*, but the nurse today said 2 weeks was fine. :y

General Car Chat / Jaguar XE
« on: 25 April 2021, 16:11:26 »
Noticed a few Omega memebrs have taken to driveing Jags these days, so went and had a nosey on Autotrader at a couple of XE models and went to check the MOT history, both came back with the mileage unreadable.

Is this a common thing or a fiddle to hide something, My MOT tester sticks his head in the car and confirms the mileage his self.

I had considered building a new PC for myself but cant get the CPU that I want and adding to that a decent GPU.

Some stock for the CPU became available but I was too late. :-\

Now I read there is about (Possibly) to be a HDD/SSD shortage. :-X

What do you all use.

My 2 main ones are Firefox & Chrome.  I have used Opera in the past and IE with out tweaking it I find is a waste of time.

Are there any others worth trying. :y
