Omega General Help / Warning Lights

Hi all .....
Driving home tonight the control indicator for engine electronics came on ... the car started to idle roughly at traffic lights ....then it went out and the exhaust emission light then came on and has stayed on .... if i rev the engine slowly it seems fine ... if i put the foot down it hesitates and then seems to pull away ok .... anyone know what the likely cause of this may be  :-/

Omega General Help / Timing Belt Cover 2.0-2.2

Does anyone know if the timing belt cover from a 1997 2.0 ltr would fit on a 2002 2.2 .... the one on my 2.2 is cracked and the one on my 2.0ltr ( which is about to be scrapped after belt failure ) looks exactly the same, all bolt holes etc in the same place although Vx say they are different and it wouldnt fit ... :-/

Hi all

I have a 1997 2.0ltr GLS Omega im about to scrap after timing belt failure .... i now have a 2002 2.2 CD Omega... are there any parts i could scavenge out of this car before it goes to the graveyard in case i have problems with the new one sometime down the road .....    I only have a limited toolkit so im not looking at gearboxes etc lol , just some of the more easier to remove bits.

Omega General Help / Rattle , Squeeky Noise

Hi all

My car developes a rattle and a squeeking when driving from the back passenger side ... it only does it when warmed up and i thought it was coming from the exhaust possibly fouling on something underneath ... ive had the car at several garages who " cant find anything wrong " .. however im convinced its the exhaust , i had the car idleing tonight so i opened the boot and bounced it up and down and sure enough the squeek was there ....is there anything else in that area that when gets warm can rattle and squeek i can check before it does my head in  :-/

Omega General Help / Little Black Ariel

On my 52 plate cd there is a little bee sting type ariel at the back of the roof ( its only about 2 inches long ).... i thought the omegas radio ariel was built in to the rear screen ?.... there is no sign of a phone ever been fitted to the car so what is this little ariel for ??   Pointless question i know but its getting the better of me now

Omega General Help / Central Locking

Hi all  .....
My drivers door wont open using the remote , but all others do . If i go to lock it using the remote the drivers button thing stays up , all the others go down then a second later they pop up again .... from inside the car if i manually press the door button it works to open and lock ..... the car is relatively new to me so im not sure if theres any procedure to clear this or is it just broken .... just started doing it today.....only had it a week but it i suppose it is under warranty  .....

Omega General Help / Renew Bulbs blown on Air Conditioning Panel

A few of the bulbs above the cd player in my Omega CD for the air distrubution are not working ... how easy or difficult are these to replace , i assume the cd player will need to come out for access ... can anyone point me in the right direction .

Omega General Help / Seat Height

My seat has the electrically operated height adjustment but it seems to be stuck at the highest setting ... the motor clicks when i press the button for up or down but nothing happens .... is there a way i can get the seat down a bit

Im going for a look at and test drive of an OMEGA 2.2 16V CDX ESTATE with 73'000 miles on it this weekend from a showroom ... is there any thing i should look out for on this model ie noises or anything i should pay paticular attention to...sorry if there has been a review on a separate page but i couldnt find anything

Omega General Help / 2.0ltr Timing belt failure after 14'000 mls

Hi all.... looks like i found this forum too late .... i had my cylinder head gasket and timing belt/ tensioners done 2 yrs ago ... the car had only covered 14'000 miles since the change and guess what  Ping goes the belt ...the local garage that did it ( non vauxhall ) have basically washed thier hands and said thats tough ... i thought they would have been a bit more helpfull .... trading standards say they should be responsible .... anyway instead of a long drawn out battle because i need the car on the road i've bought a reconditioned engine with a 6 month warranty ... this engine has done 39'000 so i enquired if the timing belt would be needing changed ....they say no because this will have been done ...would the 6 month warranty cover it if heaven forbid the belt on that goes as well ....
