Ok here are my results to try and fix my constant P0170 lean exhaust code after about a 10 mile run.

Coolant Temp 85c - 97c throughout test.

@ idle

Mass Air   0.51 - 0.73 V    10 kg/h
Intake Air Temp  28c
EGR Position Feedback  0.80 V
O2 sensor Bank 1   745 - 862 mV Lean
O2 sensor Bank 2   647 - 804 mV Rich
O2 Loop Open
Short Term Fuel Trim   0%
Battery  13.1 V


@ 2500 rpm

Mass Air   1.61 - 1.69 V    31 kg/h
Intake Air Temp  32c
EGR Position Feedback  1.04 - 1.06 V
O2 sensor Bank 1   39 - 59 mV Lean
O2 sensor Bank 2   98 mV Lean
O2 Loop Open
Short Term Fuel Trim   0%

Couldnt find anything for long term fuel trim

No MIL on but code stored P0170-(02) Lean Exhaust Present

Can someone with a known good MAF or O2 sensors compare results ?

Please help as this is driving me mental

Im trying to find out why i have constant P0170 lean exhaust and constant MIL light on.  So if i have live data and my laptop what sort of things should i be looking for ie O2 sensor values , maf values etc ......I've seen lots of pretty numbers but they mean nothing to me

Omega General Help / Car Cut out

Hi there .... my car started fine as usual this morning then as soon as i went to drive it cut out  :-/ .... seemed to take a bit longer to fire up after but was fine after it started... this is the second time this has happened in as many days .... there are no codes stored ... no oil in wells , anything else i can check or is this a symptom of crank or cam sensor .

My engine temp gauge only goes up to between 80-85 ... i thought it should be a bit higher .... is this normal or could this be the problem causing my constant fuel trim issue ( P0170 ).

Just got myself an all singing and dancing Vax carpet washer with the upholstery attachment ...... so is it wise to use it to wash my heated seats ( non leather ).....i wouldnt be stupid enough to soak them but should i just stick to the normal hoover

Omega General Help / Slight hesitation on Acceleration

Looking for help on a slight hesitation on accelation ... only sometimes on hard acceleration above 3500rpm i feel a slight hesitation which then clears and revs again ..... in the past i've had code P0420 and P0170 codes but nothing pointing to any paticular part/sensor .... i have had 2 new cats fitted under the warranty but the P0420 code still kept coming back and the warranty is now expired .... i dont get the P0420 now though , seems to have been replaced by the fuel trim code P0170 which i just keep resetting .   There are no codes in the car just now so where do i start.   I dont really want to throw money at it to find any parts i replace dont cure the problem  :-/

Omega General Help / Codes P1130 & P0170

Hi all .... been away for a few days away  
Got the usual engine light on the journey and assumed it would be the usual " cat efficieny code ".   On testing i found the above two codes . Im assuming this is pointing to one of the O2 sensors.  The code reader i have says  " P1130 Heated Oxygen Sensor Circiut Low Variance Bank 1 Sensor 1. So does this mean its the front or rear sensor .     :-/

The car does feel underpowered and flat even for a 4 pot .....  :-/

Hi all .... i have been having problems with the P0420 code coming on all the time but after 2 new cats i just keep resetting the code .

Was coming back yesterday from visiting family and there was a really loud bang which after looking today turns out to be one of the rear springs giving up .....then further on the journey the mil light comes on again   .... assumed it would be the usual code but after reading it today its not ..... its P0170 fuel trim malfunction  :-/ :-/..... i have new springs coming tommorrow so as im working all over new year hopefully i can get the chance to change them at work  ....

So as for this new code before i start throwing money at this car or a box of matches where do i look to sort this code

Omega General Help / Light switch

Hi all
My light switch doesnt light up but when i removed the side panel there is a small length of wiring with a bulb hanging down which i assume should be plugged in somewhere to illuminate the switch but i cant see where it plugs in ... it does light up when i put the lights on though :-/....   any tips or a how to on removing the switch so i can plug this bulb back in.  I did look in the maintenance section but couldnt see anything.

Hi all .... ive been having small niggly problems with this car lately and this morning the front ashtry has decided it doesnt want to close and seems to get stuck with about 1 cm left to go before it closes ..... this is not a big problem i know but with all i've had to do to this car its very nearly the last straw    ... i couldnt see any way of removing it to try and repair it but i'll have a look at the maintenence section . Any tips on how it comes out and why i should not kick the sh** out this car greatly appreciated

Hi all

My brake lights sometimes do not come on and wont release the gear lever .... can someone please give me a part number for the switch for a 2002 2.2cd with cruise if that makes any difference .
Also is there a guide somewhere for the fitting of it ,  i have looked but cant find anything .

I used the Tesco premium fuel on my last fill and found my consumption nose dived  :-/....

Omega General Help / Brakelight Check / Locked Gear Selector

Hi all ,
The other day the gear selector wouldn't release when i put my foot on the brake .... but it did release after a few pushes of the pedal ....
It done the same tonight in my drive whilst going to work and i noticed the brake lights wern't coming on  :-/ ..... untill it did release .

Is this a faulty brake switch or lock switch on the selector ....... i dont fancy getting stranded somewhere with a gear stick that wont move  :-/

Omega General Help / Cruise Stopped Working

Hi all....
Drove the car this morning to an appointment , cruise worked fine ..... drove on the way back and its not working now .   No fault codes showing. I added the cruise stalk myself after i bought a cheepy on fleabay ...then got Vx to activate it , been working fine for a few months . Is it likely to be the cheap stalk at fault ?
