Hi Weds. I am only round corner from you and I have been looking for a good Tech2 mechanic for sometime as would like a gearbox and air con upgrade...perhaps if we tempt TB with fuel tokens we could meet him half way and do both cars..just a thought. ?

That cannot be emphasised enough   :-?

I would certainly try and gather a few cars together and see if you can tempt someone to come down and help !!

even TB must be bribable with fuel tokens, especially if some beer tokens were thrown in for good measure

I was hoping for a gearbox and climate update as well, but didn't want to push my luck too far to start with...

Anyone else need the  services of a Tech 2 in the southeast..

What you need to do is send your new and un-married CID to Dave so he can read the non-volatile memory for future use.

And then get it programmed!

Maybe the answer is to form a convoy from the Medway services. To conserve precious fuel get several tow ropes and drive 1 tow 1,then when we have got there and all had our upgrades convoy back the same way !!!!any takers then ( i don,t have a tow bar but I do have some rope)

A top idea indeed - If you can do without your CID for a few days, please PM me as this would prove very usefull to others out there, and I will gladly pay for collection and re-delivery costs back to you.

And if you are using a traficmaster . . . . .   ::)  PM Me !!   ::)

Hey guys, don't be put off by the "north" in Northants" TB is really not that far away from London. You're talking about a 40 minute drive.

Sounds possible if TB is available,it is a round trip of 200 miles for me ,so might be better to cover just 1 cars travelling cost and time and meet closer to Kent ,as several members seem keen to have bits done..lots of beer tokens awaiting .

 hi all

did everyone get sorted out with someone to do tech2,i can get a m8 to do anyones car that wants any software upgrade etc but me thinks its a bit far for everyone to travel but however if theres enuf ppl that weants tech2 doing then im sure it be worh while for me m8 to meet you all half way,he normally charges a 1off fee of £40 per car to do any tech2 you wish at the time but if theres enuf ppl then im sure he will do everyones car cheaper, let me know how many ppl wud want tech2 software updates or re programming and i`ll see wot he can sort out and obviously meet you half way.

 i await your replies

Lot's of talk, and the meet has almost organised itself, but I notice TB is avoiding this topic like the plague - no good without him or another Tech II.

Do you think he can't find his passport? ::)

Oh, I know exactly where my passport is, having used it yesterday ;)

Sadly, I also know how far Kent is from me, and how rubbish the roads are, having used the Tunnel this weekend.  I'm not saying its a no-go, just that it'll be around 6hrs travelling, plus whatever time the meet lasts for, so would need to find a time when I have a whole day free....

As we seem to be getting a fair number of members after various Tech 2 upgrades etc would it not be an idea if we could sort out a suitable day when TB would be available to do this work ( if he is in agreement ) and we then have a OOF convoy to Northants with a mini meet somewhere enroute

I think a mini meet at the WIM open day is best bet ;)

A meet at WIM could work really well, as long as those of us from down south could get our alignment done!

All sounds fine but will we need to form so "order of work " as with a fair few cars might not be practical or even possible for the "skilled members"to cover all the bits requiring doing ?
