Just rang Vx Banbury to ask how much for a CarPass since i don't have one, and need one to program my new key..... the cost???
£25!!!! :o >:( >:( - Just for a bit of paper and the cost of them faxing Vauxhall....
Decided to ring a Vx garage near my nans and they said it would be £15 + Vat
Seams like a big difference, whats the cheapist any1 has managed to get?
-
Crownhill in MK want £32 + VAT!!
£15 + VAT does seem to be cheapest that many have got...
-
It costs 12 quid so 15 quid is a bargain.
-
trouble is that garage is too far away.
Might try ringing around some more dealers..
-
I was quoted about £17 for mine, can't remember if that was with the vat though.
Cheers Jim

I'm not defending the price but bear in mind that it needs to be priced at a level to make you want to put your hand in your pocket. If was too cheap every Tom Dick & Harry would be going into the their dealers and get a CarPass for any (Vauxhall) car they wanted. Taking a car is so much easier if you've got a key to get into it ....... yes I know programming it would be another story.
-
Dealers are supposed to prove ownership, ie logbook....
-
Thats what i dont get.....the sometimes big differences in vx pricing :-/
I know they have different labour rates.....but i thought they looked up the job u've taken your car in for and it tells em how many hours it takes to do the job
Doesnt seem to be the case in my experience >:(
-
TIS gives labour times, but its a bit too clunky, so I reckon they guess... ...and if they ain't busy, I think they quote a little lower...
-

A slight diregression from the original topic but the title is applicable.
I got 'Brake Pads' appear last the other day on my GID/TID/MID/Display and so today before I phoned parts to ask about availability, I phoned service to ask a price for them to change them.
I specifically asked for a price for pads & sensors and got £75 :o and then when I confirmed that the quote was for sensors I was quoted £105!!! :o :o (or should that be ;D ;D ;D ?)
Price from parts on Trade Club ......... a shade under £30!
I'll call in parts some day this week 8-). I suppose I'd better have a quick look at them some time sooner rather than later
-
Pad warning when about 1/4 to 1/3 of pad left...

Without having had the time to look yet I'd guess at a 1/3 due to the un-worn lip at the edge of the disc I can see through the wheels.
