My refreshed Omega
« on: 10 March 2011, 19:04:33 »

Well my car was looking a bit tired with the paint work so took the plunge and got her repainted, plus I have done a few modifications to the body as well....... So when I got home from work today gave her a rinse off then gave her a good wash and dried her off.......

Thanks Danny she's not quite finished on the front end yet, just need to get the slam panel welded in then she is done.

Thanks guy's, got it done for £800 but should have cost £2500 and that was for a full outside body respray including dent removal (x5) and rust removal (x6) and treated before she was sprayed over.

Yes it was the whole outside of the car and I got the whole re-spray for £800 but it should have cost £2500.

cracking paint finish, i imagine you are very pleased.
I'm not sure that i would personally be able to justify a full respray at such cost for a car that is worth comparatively less, but if you are indeed planning on keeping the car for the considerable future then I would understand your reasons for doing it.

I dont think i've had any car longer than a year and most of the for around 6 months lol. I think i have a short car attention span haha.

Very nice paint there, but got to say spoilt slightly by the over tinted rear lights, can you see the red stop light or tail light for that matter?
Just saying that to bring it to your attention in regards poor rear lights, dark night, car shunts you up the chuffer, all that work spoilt but still looks fantastic. :y

The rear lights are good at night and the brake lights can be seen during the day time as well so no problems there.

Paintwork looks flawless in the pictures mate

And looks the same in the flesh matey.

I'm having the slam panel fitted and welded in tomorrow so she will be done as far as the front end is finished. After that has been done the engine will see a couple of mods as well so nearly finished.

There is only one thing I do hate and that is the mindless, inconsiderate, self centered, not so careful people that just love to scratch other peoples' car when it looks so nice and clean. I have had the car back 3 weeks and the amount of slight scratches that are over the car already and a couple of very small dents as well this is what really hurts me that i have taken the time and money to get her looking like this and then some mindless idiots do this to the car  >:( >:( >:( :'( :'( :'(

Plus I have changed the rear lights back to the original smoked ones so looks alot better now.

I'm with you on this one,I work at Heathrow and we have a big staff car park with reasonable sized bays but I've lost count of the times that I've had to climb in the passenger side because some kind person has parked so close that the door mirrors are nearly touching, and like you I don't pick up on those mystery scratches until I'm cleaning the car but I know where they came from because the car does'nt go any where but to work.I'm waiting to catch someone doing it,trouble is I know I'm gonna go into one and probably lose my job!! >:( >:(

I saw this car today, and have to say that the pics still do not do this car justice, it is simply stunning and the paint is like a mirror, then his pal turned up in an ex plod 3.0 and that has had a make over as well and makes white cars look cool.
His dad also has an explod car and that is undergoing a refreshment course.
When these are all finished they will make a stunning photo with the black car in between 2 white cars.
Good to meet you this morning chris and keep up the good work. :y

Looks a very tidy job. It's good to see people putting a bit of money and effort into their miggys. Just because it might seem un economical to do at the end of the day if you love you car and plan on keeping it then it's well worth while doing. Also just because values of omegas have plummeted due to the price of fuel, it doesn't make them any less awesome cars.
