Batteries
« on: 24 February 2010, 10:39:10 »

My battery looks to be dying a death. Just found the receipt and I bought it 09/02/07 ..... bugger! just outside the 3yr warrenty  :'(
Looking at the Trade Club on-line shows that the battery suggested for the 3.2 is the same as the 2.5 TD ie 85A/Hr. :-?  Does anyoneone else with a V6 have a 85A/Hr battery on their car? At present there's a 72 on mine but having seen the TC site I'm not sure now whether I want/would like the bigger battery.  :-/  :-/

Not convinced that you would use the extra battery capacity in all honesty

I'm not sure either, but it might help due to the limited use that the car gets.  :-/

I'm sure someone reported that they bought an 85Ah for a 3.2 and it was way too big and wouldn't fit.

My 3.2 has a 65Ah battery. Looks like a genuine GM, possibly original fit one (not a "GO").

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean it'll last longer. Sometimes the opposite, in fact.

I've seen the 85A/Hr on a tracktor & it was massive!  :-?
Which has made me realise that I'd need a bigger jacket if I bought one! I'll stick to what I've already got ....  ::)  ::)

Off to jump it from the Astra shed and put my CTek on it  :y :y  :y & order a new battery  ;)

Have the same as Kevin on mine....Only ran flat afew times ...one a the cambelt party a few years ago thanks the  S-P jr.  Had it on the car past 4 years.

Had a look at a new one 85ah think it was around £70 with TC but was thinking they where all the same size.
