First problem with the Saab
« on: 05 November 2009, 16:22:42 »

Noticed this morning whilst sat in traffic, a very slight judder (thought was just a hic-up but it didn't stop), so starting thinking very very slight missfire (fine when not idleing). Anyway started it up earlier and had a more severe still not bad miss  :-/ Been reading on the net it's something to do with the Plugs Saab use, anyone know anything about these?

It's a 2.8 Turbo same engine as the Vectra VXR 2006 model.

Looks like it's just the plugs. Don't hear of many Saabs breaking that haven't got Vauxhall engines.

Heres the first then......

We had an 9-5 a few years ago, nice car, 2.0 LPT SE saloon.....

Loved the car right up to the bit where the engine went POP when doing 80mph on the A50 near Uttoxeter one sunny Christmas morning....

Engine seizure, due to a known clogging problem apparently....

Very common issue on that engine, Saab specialist recommend droping the sump and cleaning it out regularly...... Saab dealers....DON'T!
