Im gonna meet y'all at the mcdonalds if thats ok, gonna need a hearty breakfast to kick start the day. Are we going to be doing repairs at this one? If so gonna need a few things done, pretty sure the water pump is the original so that needs replacing and I need help to track down a coolant leak, suspected hbv but not 100% sure. I'll bring all the necessary parts (just waiting for my trade card to show up  ;D)

if anyone can think of anything else then let me know

cheers sp

I don't know if any work will be carried out at this meet I feel that I'm not experienced/confident enough to work on other peoples cars, that's not to say that other members wont carry out any work. There will definitely be plenty of advice on any problems your having with you're miggy and I'm looking forward to finding your water leak :y :y
If you need any parts for you're miggy try sending AndyOmegaV6 a PM as he has been breaking quite a few miggys recently and can bring along any bits you may require (within reason ::) ::))
Look forward to seeing everyone there  :y :y :y :y

thanks guys, well me and a mate are going to replace the hbv and water pump on saturday so hopefully that'll cure the leak, if not then it'll keep you occupied for half an hour or so ;D. I think I also need to change the brake fluid and atf at somepoint but reading the maintaince guide seems like a real pain to do. Also might do an oil/filter change to try and stop the lifters tapping when cold, plus I hear the vx oil is pretty good at stopping the mayo on the filler cap.

ive had a word with my mate regarding discount on spares etc from motorway belts in adeyfield,
they will give us trade discount as long as you mention OOF or omega owners club,
if its something out of the ordinary that you need then it might be worth checking a few days before if its available & ask if it can be ordered in for saturday,
im trying to get this as a permanent arrangement for OOFers but for now assume its a one-off,
im still not 100% whether i`ll be there or not :'( but im trying my best ;)

I was unable to make the last meet (due to brother's wedding) but look forward to this one.
This might be cheeky but i'll ask anyway. I want to start servicing the miggy myself but would really appreciate it if anyone could "help" me do it at the meet. This would give me more confidence to doing it myself the next time. I'm afraid i haven't saved up enough for all the tools and the only thing i have so far is a trolley jack. Can anyone help with their tools and wisdom please? I would want to change oil, plugs, fuel filter and pollen filter (the last one i know i can do!)

Thanks

Alright all.
Firstly massive thanks to OmegaGav for choosing the venue and to TheBoy for plugging me in to his machine and sorting out my alarm issue :) :y.
Lovely to meet you Gav and kids, Chris, Tim, Andy, Bev and family,The Boy, IanS and MrsS, my mate with the T reg Elite (sorry, not too good with names when I'm tired) and if I've forgotten anyone please accept my apologies. :(
Nice to put faces to names and great to meet people with as much enthusiasm as I have about the mighty Omega.
Had a really nice time and really sorry that I couldn't stay longer, the rest of the day was rubbish by comparison.
Great pics, Andy and looking forward to seeing the ones that Gav and Tim took.
Already looking forward to the next one and hopefully will not be so dozy next time ;)
Thanks again everyone, really great company.
Hope the enormous butterfly is doing ok :)

I think we will be renaming our meets as we are nothing to do with Reading to be honest

Yes, the organisers of the "original" Reading meets have moved to another Forum and continue to meet! PM me for details...

Thanks
Mike

was a brilliant day, thanks to The Boy for upgrading my gerarbox firmware, feels a lot different now (In a good way lol). Nice to see everyone again, and Kieron if you ever decide you don't want your exhaust then I'll give it a good home ;D and don't forget to clean out your skuttle drain.
Chris, hope you get those niggles sorted out and I think you must hold the world record for number of wheel changes in a day lol, you could probably do them in your sleep now lol (although I wouldn't recommend it).
Andy, hope your seats are working ok and your not driving like a granny (nose on the windscreen) or like someone from the ghetto (practically lying down) lol
