Graham's number is the largest number ever used in a serious mathematical proof, a number so large that there are not enough molecules in the universe to create the ink to allow it to be printed 

call me weird but i love stuff like that.

its all to do with determining the conditions at which a given property of hypercubes or n-cubes (multidimensional boxes, where n is the number of dimensions, apparently) is guaranteed to be true....or something.......anyway, i'll repeat -

The problem with cosmology and its associated disciplines is that until we can actually witness the given theory proposed in practice it remains difficult to appreciate.

I am no mathmetician, but isn't this where "the power to the........".and equations come in to calculate the reality of any sum or theory? :-/ :-/

like the best puzzles - the solution seems simple (the solution to the n-cube ramsey theory was apparently thought to be 6 until fairly recently......then some genius thought...hang on a sec.....)
