Omega General Help / Re: EML light just come on
« on: 15 January 2011, 23:47:41 »
thanks gooseman, interesting reading. just been tinkering around and found out the breather box is not sitting flat on the plenum (by quite a bit). its letting air into the center hole in the top of the plenum. im gonna re-seat it tomorrow then see how it goes. it may have been giving all sorts of wrong info to the ECU hence the codes/EML light

Thanks Jimbob, Just had the cambelt done by Daz on thursday so may be a dirty/loose connection on the airbox and the clutch switch has been clicking for a bit but i've never had the Lambda issues before  :-/

I'll try to sort out the easy 2 first before i have to get mucky :)

Omega General Help / My Omega smells ........
« on: 04 January 2011, 22:47:23 »
I put a new pollen filter in my car around november time last year. The old one looked in pretty poor condition (probably original one) it was so filthy it was black.
After reading some of the posts on here i realised the replacement should have been black too (A Carbon One) VX sold me the wrong part. moan moan.

Anyway the white one seemed to work ok so end of.. until i had to change my car battery about 3 weeks ago.
The first time i started the car (with the new battery) i noticed the climate control panel went i bit nutty. Loads of flaps adjusting and fans switching on then all went quiet for a minute. All works fine, loads of heat and plenty of blower power for the windscreen etc, But i'm getting all the fumes from outside coming into the car . Any ideas????

Omega General Help / Air con resetting
« on: 26 December 2010, 01:30:32 »
Merry Christmas to everyone;

I replaced the battery about a week ago and ever since the vents seem to be letting in the smells from the car in front.
When i first started the car (with the new battery) the aircon seemed to make some noises, like a reset . still got heat and cold. but the smells are gassing me especially in the early hours.

Is there a reset procedure or do i need a tech 2 on it

Thanks in advance

This happened to me this morning ASDA shopping. Rubber seal was stuck fast.. Used a bottle of her spring water (cold) poured it all round the edge of the boot lid and waited a few seconds then all was ok.
Hope this helps  :)

Omega General Help / Re: Reverse Lights not working always
« on: 08 December 2010, 14:13:09 »
cant remember which side it is but its high up no need to touch the  oil (too high). Check the connecting plug is not loose first. a week after i had my replacement box fitted the plug had worked loose, pushed the plug all the way back in and then there was light. :y

Omega General Help / Engine Oil for diesels
« on: 23 November 2010, 13:07:43 »
Just been down to Vx to get a 4 pack of oil and some filters. While i was there i asked about oil for my neighbour's Tdi Vectra. The counter guy said i can use the same oil (10w 40) Is this correct?
I thought Diesels had a different spec oil :-/
