Auto box seems confused!!
« on: 10 July 2015, 17:38:07 »

Starting to realise why people say the miggy is a never ending project ::)

Took her for a longer drive earlier and I started to notice the auto box didn't seem to settle in gear, almost as if it kept changing its mind, is there something that can be changed to stop this happening or is it doomed to failure?

Now the EML has come on so I did the pedal trick and it gave me the code 0430. No doubt more money to spend, any ideas on this and above post chaps?

Most auto boxes benefit from a fluid change if the electrics are in order. So if the gear selector lights and all modes are engaging, then hopefully it's just a fluid related issue.

First thing to check is the fluid level as the guide in maintenance. If that is ok, then a full ATF change is the only real serviceable option. Unfortunately these are hoops auto owners need to jump through before finding out of there is a true fault with the box or not.
I try to service my auto's every 60k, which makes it over due at 127k and it's starting to show signs of slow gear engagement into reverse and drive.

Most 3.2's , because of age ,will show this code unless the sensors have been moved as explained above by others .

Cheap code reader will remove code & EML if lit . I have to do mine about every 6-800 miles. Standard for 3.2  ::) ::)

As for the banter & less serious answers to questions  . . . quite normal for Oof . . .just enjoy it  ;D ;D ;D
