I use a HP Elitebook 840 with a 256gb SSD, 6GB RAM, Intel i5, and Windows 10 pro which I bought for £152 delivered from an ebay supplier last October.

Some of the buttons are a little worn, but apart from that it's been great and runs fast and smoothly.  :y

I'm not so sure.

Most are about 7 years old and the refurb consists of a a 'blow through' with an air hose.

Yes I accept that it probably won't last as long as a brand new laptop, but then it was probably about a quarter of the price.  :y

I did look into this as laptops don't seem to last very long in my house. :-\

They worked out at about 50% of new cost when I last checked.

I've got a "refurbished" Dell Latidude D630 that my youngest got for me. Cost around £70 and it's been fine for the 4/5 years i've had it. As for my AOL/TalkTalk broadband, that's another matter. :(  They are laying fibre optic cables all around my estate at the moment. Any pitfalls or problems anyone on here have had with fibre?
