Royal Mail
« on: 15 August 2020, 11:51:52 »

So I'm sat here on the 'puter, and hear Mr Postie scan a package, and before he has actually put it through the letterbox, I got the email to say it had been delivered.

That's how technology is supposed to work :y

From time to time we have a 'girl' postman.

Always smiling and easy on the eye if I say so myself.

They've been superb throughout. When you consider how much more mail order stuff most of us have been ordering in the last few months, remarkable really.

Obviously not.  I have a bucketload of shit I'm waiting for from ebay, including tracked, which have yet to be recognised by RM or the associated courier, beyond "we are waiting for your parcel from the sender"

Our Posties are always happy and pleasant, and do whatever they can to save punters having to collect :)

I was just impressed with the technology - I heard the bleep as it was scanned, and had the email within a second :)

It's taken less than four days for two ebay purchases to get to the UK from the US. Expecting delivery tomorrow or Tuesday.

I need to chase Pelican Parts though as my order from them left Los Angeles 11 days ago :-\

Yeah, I find US sellers are generally less lazy than Brits and Chinglise.  Although, it often gets hung up in customs from the US and not gone through eBays International's postal service - obviously not the sellers fault.

Yes, but have you heard the latest on the US Postal Service?

It would seem, by way of many  news reports that Trump is deliberately slowing down the speed of collections and deliveries in a bid to "fix" the postal voting system in his favour for the forthcoming Presidential elections.  Even the new head of the USPS, Louis DeJoy, is a Trump supporter and it is said he is doing Trumps bidding.  https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/16/politics/dejoy-post-office-hot-seat-election-2020/index.html

When you see the piles of mailboxes that have been withdrawn from use in cities like New York, you can quiet believe the allegations.

What a mess US politics is in!! ::) ::)

Bless the British Royal Mail I say, and yes I have nothing but praise for how they speedily handle our letters and parcels. 8) 8) :y :y

However CNN chooses to spin it, Trump will serve a second term... The alternative is a chap whi doesn't know what day of the week it is and his sidekick that failed to get a single party nomination four years ago :-X

There is something to be said for preventing postal voting to prevent electoral fraud... Middle America that might once have voted Democrat will almost certainly vote Republican because the Democrats have done nothing to prevent the minority rioting in areas that used to be the epitome of Middle American decency, the only way that these treasonous mobs can get control is by rigging the voting and remote voting is the weak link. You will note that the only complainants are those that would actively seek to commit electoral fraud and use it to the detriment of everyone who thinks differently from the extreme socialist SJW rhetoric.

If the US postal vote system is anywhere near as corrupt as the UK version then Trump is doing a service to democracy.
I dont think he is a shoe in for a second term though. I did before the pandemic, but he has shown himself to be a complete ignoramous during the last 6 months or so.

I still hope he wins though for two reasons.
1. He isnt of the Liberal left. Imo the Liberal left are destroying the Western world from the inside. Whether its deliberate or through naivety and stupidity isnt clear, but the result will be the same.
2. He recognises that China intends to dominate the world through sheer economic power, and is actualy making an effort to try to prevent it from happening.
What have the Democrats ever done to try and stop it ?

His hints at delaying the election have sent the pink snowflakes into an enormous fit of the vapours, and yet.....

The hypocrisy is truely staggering.  ::)
